Made a fool of myself & ruined my bbag!

  1. Ladies, I know you'll feel my pain. I finally made it to North Carolina last night & today I sat in on a class at the graduate department I'm joining in the Fall.

I had my gray box with me, and I stopped off quickly to buy a cup of sweet tea because I love it. An extra-long cup. Well, when I got to class (where I know no one and wanted to make a good impression), I didn't realize that the desks had flip-up tables, so I jostled it accidentally spilling the extra large cup of tea all over myself, the floor, two students and my bbag!:push:

Not only did I make a grade-A a$$ out of myself in front of people I wanted to impress, my bbag is covered in sticky sweet tea droplets. I don't think there's anyway to clean it.

    Ugh, what a day.

    I'm soooo upset!:crybaby:
  2. Ohhh... you poor thing. Did you get the tea on the inside of the bag too or the outside? If it's just the surface, try wiping it down with a wet cloth. I really feel for you. *hugs*
  3. Ohh no!! I am so sorry to hear that! The only thing I can say is that time will make people forget, get your clothers and bag cleaned by a professional cleaner and try to take it with humor- maybe even mention it with a smile and giggle next time you are in class. I feel that if you are really open and funny about it people will have less to make fun of behind your back and will be impressed by your confidence.
  4. oh nooooooooooooooo, i'm so sorry jillybean ...i wouldn't worry about what the other people think & agree that time & humor will fix that :girlsigh:...wait until your bag has completely dried & then use a damp cloth or some apple conditioner to get the stickiness DH spilled sode on my black first & that's what i did...but if there are still spots on it tomorrow, i'm not sure what to do about that :shrugs:
  5. You will be surprised about how quickly people forget... and how someone else will do something embarrassing next week!

As for your bag, try a damp cloth. If that doesnt do anything, perhaps try some proffessional cleaning product...

    Hope it all works out

  6. I think that the incident will become something that you can laugh about in time. When I reminisce about my grad school days, it is usually about the goofy stuff we did!

As for the bag, I am truly worry. I don't have any special tips, but I hope you can get it cleaned.
  7. Thanks for the kind words, ladies. I'm feeling like such a dope, but you've made me feel better. I'm going to try a damp cloth on the sticky spots, and hope that helps a little.
  8. Oh dear!

I don't know how to clean Bbags either, but I hope you'll manage to save your Grey Box!!
  9. i don't know what to say about cleaning your bag - though it looks like you've been given great suggestions - but as for me, i find it endearing when someone does something goofy like spilling tea on themselves during a first encounter. i sympathize with them, and it's fodder for conversation for weeks
  10. OMG I feel your pain...hope your B-bag is now OK?
  11. I don't have any suggestions for cleaning the bag, but I'm sorry to hear this happened to you! Good luck with cleaning the bag!!
  12. I think the appleguard conditioner will help clean it. I hope that works.

Well, on the bright side - people will remember you in that class. It could be a good thing -hopefully
  13. oh NOOOO..... i'm sorry to hear that :crybaby:
i have no words to say about how to deal with the tea, but i hope you can fixed ur bag soon dear :crybaby:
  14. Oh man, tha sucks!! Don't worry about the people in the class, stuff like that happens to everyone.
I wish I could tell you how to clean it but I'm clueless.
