First of all, congratz to your new handbag!
The pattern are a little bit old for your age in my opinion but I'm sure it'll fits you perfect. Just match it with some cute outfits and the bag won't look that old. You can shorten the stripes and carry it as a top handles bag.

I don't the pattern is old at all! This as well as the mono are iconic, classic and timeless patterns that can be dresses up or down as fits your mood. You can jazz it up with a fun, bright bandeau or simple silk scarf if you feel like it but I think it's a great choice that will be with you for a long time. Congratulations!
