Leather boots - Can they be s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d?

  1. I found perfect knee-high leather boots for fall, but they are too tight in the calf by about an inch. Can they be made wider by taking them to be stretched? How much wider can you make leather boots by having them stretched? Has anyone had this done before? How much does it cost? It won't ruin the boot will it?!

Thanks so much for your advice!
  2. Yes, it can be done. I'd contact the place you purchased them from and see if they can do it or ask for a referral.

I have a pair of Jimmy Choo boots and while I didn't need them stretched, when I asked to try them on, my SA told me they were small in the calves and they could have them stretched if I so needed them to be so to answer your question, yes, it can be done without ruining the boot. I don't know the cost b/c it wasn't needed in my case.
