I did contact Etsy and they said that since it had been longer than 60 days they would not do anything. It was only that long because the seller asked me to be patient because this was a custom order. She has since disappeared from Etsy and I don't know whether she was asked to leave or did so on her own. They won't tell me anything and refuse to help me. Frankly, I won't buy from Etsy anymore because there is no customer support.
I think that while many on Etsy are good artists and also honest there are some who have no idea how to run a business or who may not have the integrity to be in business.
Do you have to pay the full price before the custom order is actually made?
I always thought it is the other way round or that you pay for the materials, because I see a lot of custom orders ("reserved for...") in shops, so I figured that people pay for the finished product.
I hope you didn't lose a lot of money. I'd love to know what they would have done if it was in the appropriate time frame. I think I will be extra careful ordering from etsy now, although I haven't bought anything high $$$ there before and have had great experience with sellers.
That being said I haven't experienced great service from ebay either - I am glad that there is something like PayPal.
I found a seller that makes bangle bracelets similar to David Smallcombe. Lorraine Stannick sells them on the currentcustom.com
But the DS ones are more expensive.
I placed an order this weekend. Can't wait to receive them.

Lovely! I would love to hear what you think of them when they arrive, thinking about getting a set!
