Is this a good Nordstrom Rack deal?

I'm curious what "altered or refinished" means. (And the "compare at" price is a bit, uh, embellished, no?)
I'm with atlantis1982. What does that mean? And a little sad that a Bal bag is showing up at NRack at all...
well, I think it's really up to you- are you interested simply because it's discounted, or have you genuinely been wanting a Bal and this came along? The retail of this new is $1835, so yes, it's a "good" deal in that sense; but if you're kind of 'meh' with beige bags or prefer a larger size, then maybe it's not so good a deal. (BTW I'm totally guilty of doing this- I see something that is worth a lot marked down & I buy it, fully knowing it's not right for me, but unable to resist!)
If you are interested, I'd check to make sure it's not damaged & that it's authentic, though.
Yeah, that is weird...I thought Nordstrom stopped carrying Bal's a few years ago, and this color looks like maybe Blanc Creme or Beige Oryx, which are quite recent
It is a real good deal if you ignore the Altered/Refinished part. Sometimes, Just a small thread out of place, reduces the price by 50-60%!

Totally guilty of exactly this. Totally guilty of buyers remorse soon thereafter. I would have grabbed this in a nanosecond b/c deal- even though i never considered either this size or color!!!
I remember seeing a mini papier Bal tote at NR once and it was under $500. I recall posting it on the Authenticate topic a while back. The leather was soft but it felt a little cheap. I was hesitate on the authenticity so I posted it here to make sure (unfortunately no one could help me), so I didn't buy it.
But if I had found a Bal First at NR for that price I would have been severely tempted to get it, assuming it's in overall excellent condition. Great find!
