Interesting marketing: Rafe designs for Chevy

  1. What do you all think of this kind of marketing?

"We asked designer Rafe Totengco to create designs inspired by the all-new 2008 Chevy Malibu. Know for his collection of smart designs that incorporate classic styles with a modern edge, Rafe was thrilled to take the challenge. 'The Chevy Malibu is an American icon, who wouldn't be inspired by that? The woman driving this car is the woman I design for: sleek, modern, sexy, accessible, fun, confident - she stands out in the crowd.'"

I love things like the Go International series at Target, Roberto Cavalli for H&M etc but this just seems like such a stretch. What do you guys think?

  2. Hmmm I think it's kind of a stretch...seems to be the marketing strategy of the day. But I do like the stuff!

  3. The wealthy woman's line of thought for the ULTIMATE accessory...

"Gee... I guess I'll have to buy a CAR to go with my 2008 design Rafe handbag..."

    :wtf:
