I was wondering if you gals noticed a speed increase on the forum.

With the latest maintenance, we added another server to the array, now there's 4 boxes powering our Purse Blog and Forums. I know that the real test will come on Monday, as it's the busiest day of the week... still wanted to check in. ;)

For the geeks among us who care to know, these are the server specs:

Database Server

  • Dell PowerEdge 2850, 2 x 2.8GHz XEON, 4 GB RAM, 6 x 36GB SCSI 15K (1x RAID 10 and 1x RAID1)
Web Servers

Blog:
  • Dell P4 2.8 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 2 x 160GB (RAID1)
Forum:
  • Dell 1850 Dual Xeon 3.2 GHz, 4 GB Ram, 2x73 GB SCSI HD (RAID 1)
  • Dell 1850 Dual Xeon 3.2 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 2x36 GB SCSI HD (RAID 1)

Haven't been around much the past week or so since the speed had degraded on this site. I'm a systems engineer and manage a large group of servers. I become easily annoyed with sites that become constipated for one reason or another. This joint is flying about at a fair clip which is nice to see.

BTW...the specs on the servers look quite respectable. I have several Dell and HP servers in my farm.

THere's not really much difference to me, tPF has always been really fast for me, but it might be due to the fact that I'm probably not active much during the most busy hours (as I am in Europe).
