    Warm apple cider.

    Ham (on Christmas Eve. We usually have roast beef on Christmas Day.)

    Real. My dad and I have a science when it comes to picking a tree out. It's usually the first or second one we look at.

    4. Decorations on the outside of your house:
    Wreaths on the front door, the back door and the studio door. White Christmas lights on the bushes leading up to our back door.

    5. Snowball fights or sledding:
    Neither.

    6. Do you like hanging around the fireplace because it's warm:
    I love our fireplace. And I love sitting around Christmas Eve with the fire and hors d'ouvers before moving on to Christmas Eve dinner (which we also eat around the fire).

    7. Do you enjoy going downtown shopping:
    I love shopping in general.

    8. Favorite Christmas song:
    I love O Holy Night. I love listening to it, and I love singing it. Same thing with The Hellelujah Chorus. Santa Baby is a cute one. There are so many others: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, The First Noel, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas . . . .

    Really, the only ones I'm not too fond of are The Twelve Days of Christmas and The Little Drummer Boy, only because they're so repetetive.

    9. How do you feel about Christmas movies:
    My favorite is Love, Actually.

    10. When is it too early to start listening to Christmas music:
    It's too early before Thanksgiving.

    11. Stockings before or after presents:
    Before. The rule is no opening presents until the entire family is awake and ready.

    I've never seen wandering carolers.

    As far as I can remember, we've always had Christmas at our house, give or take family vacations.

    No. Not lately, but I know how it goes.

    We split off and do our own thing.

    Gingerbread.

    Walking around the mall . . . when it's not crowded.

    The past couple Christmases with my family. We're happy, we're getting along and we're opening presents. I'm happy watching someone open something I know they'd enjoy and I love opening a present knowing it's something I've asked for.

    Spending the last Christmas with my mom before she passed away at 44. I was 13 at the time.

    Neither I'm Veggie, I tend to eat pizza instead with all the Christmas vegetables.

    I love getting a real tree, it's such a great tradition.

    4. Decorations on the outside of your house:
    Just a simple strand of coloured lights on the tree in the front gardern. They can do tonnes of crazy effects but my Mum prefers them still and boring so we always change them when she's not looking.

    5. Snowball fights or sledding:
    Both! I'm such a big kid, but if I had to chose I'd say sledding.

    6. Do you like hanging around the fireplace because it's warm:
    We don't use our fireplace because my Mum hates the mess it makes of the carpet. We're looking at getting one of those fake ones but haven't got around to it yet.

    7. Do you enjoy going downtown shopping:
    I love shopping, but I have no idea what 'downtown' means lol I think I need to look that up ^_^

    8. Favorite Christmas song:
    Silent Night and White Christmas are lovely. I also love Happy Christmas (War is Over) because it's the first song on my Dad's Christmas CD and when I hear that I know it's Christmas time. I love them all though and I don't think you can get sick of them. I like the kids nativity songs too like Little Donkey and Away in a Manger.

    9. How do you feel about Christmas movies:
    I love them! They always make me feel so Christmassy, the cheesier the better!

    10. When is it too early to start listening to Christmas music:
    At work we started listening to it at the start of October which I think is a little too soon. I'd say anytime in November as you need to get Halloween and Bonfire Night out of the way first.

    11. Stockings before or after presents:
    Before - and it can be as early as you like as long as you don't disturb the parents. Main presents can only be opened once the rest of the family is awake though.

    12. Carolers, do you or do you not listen to them:
    We never have them come to our house - it's not a very big tradition over here. Sometimes you'll see them at the supermarket singing for charity so I'll stop and listen for a minute or two then.

    13. Go to someone else's house or they come to you:
    9 times out of 10 my Aunties come over to my house for Christmas and my Mum cooks a fab meal, but this year we're planning on going out for Christmas lunch.

    14. Do you read the Christmas Story:
    I haven't read that for years! I might have to read it at the pre-school where I work though, although I'm not sure if we have a copy of it.

    15. What do you do after presents and dinner:
    We all tend to watch a film together, it's usually a DVD that one of us has been given.

    16. What is your favorite holiday smell:
    Christmas trees and mulled wine.

    17. Ice skating or walking around the mall:
    I can't ice-skate so I'd have to say shopping (Although I think I would have chosen that even if I was a champion ice-skater!).

    18. Favorite Christmas memory:
    When it snowed on Christmas day about 10 years ago - I was probably around 7 or 8. My brother and I ran across to our friends across the road and we all made snowmen and tried to skid down the road (it's a quiet street!). Meanwhile my Dad was inside putting together the Barbie campervan I'd just been given and abandonded to play in the snow.

    19. Favorite Part about winter:
    Seeing the excitment on the kids faces when it snows outside, or making Christmas crafts with them like Christmas crackers or cards.

    I watch the Home Alone's almost every time they are on. (if that counts) I generally love ever Christmas movie.

    My mom cooking/baking her famed chex mis...she only makes it once a years and it's sooooooooo gooood!

    This the one that sticks out in my mind:

    I was really young, maybe 10 or 11 and I remember my mom constantly bugging my dad to go out and buy a tree. You know, before they sell out/run out. He kept putting it off until the day before xmas eve. We drove from place to place and they were none left. So my dad ended up going to a flower shop and picking up a potted plant. A purple orchid plant to be exact. I thought it was the funniest thing ever! My mom was really upset and in the end she just had to laugh at the whole situation. Christmas was still awesome!

    The weather cools down a bit and I get to wear my "fall" wardrobe...kind of.

    Two years ago was my first Christmas without my mom and it actually SNOWED in Houston and Corpus Christi (where my dad lives). It was a nice distraction and really made me think of her. Even though she wasn't here I felt her!

    At least slightly cooler weather and sweaters!

And trees with white lights on the lawn. This year I bought red stars and my mom wants to do all color. She's over the all white. Which I love.
