Hello Kitty for guys

I think it could DEFINETLY work. Look at that t-shirt, it's not very feminine at all. I'm no hello kitty fan and wont be getting this, but I can see japanese and also "fellow" europeans sporting this if it suddenly catches on. Some years ago we had had trend of baby blue/pink/green hoodies (from moods of Norway )with not-so-manly patterns going on here, so I don't see why tha same can't happen to kitty merchandise. I'm not that familiar with the US, but from posting in here and other places it seems rather conservative/different.

Well, Japanese culture is so mascot obsessed that maybe some adventurous males would wear it. Like, "i'm such a trend setter (trend-breaker?) that i can wear hello kitty and it's no big deal."
I mean, there are already enough weird fashion trends in japan that i don't understand..

However, in the US market? NO WAY. American machismo and hello kitty do not mix.
The trends and fashion in Japan are sooo outrageous. I looove how they dress (like Harajuku girls), but that stuff would just not fly here in America. I can totally imagine Japanese guys being into that kind of thing, but I agree, it would fail miserably in America.

I don't know about that. But aren't there are Sanrio characters that already target boys? Like the little evil penguin or duck or something?
LOL. Badtz-baru?

It depends on the demographic. It might catch on with the "emo" guys who sport the more androgynous and less traditionally masculine look. There is actually a long history of adrogyny as a fad among young Americans.

I could see some kind of gangster Hello Kitty, which could MAYBE work. haha not really! I can't see that happening to HK.

To me HK, is like one of the girliest things ever or something. It would be pretty creative to pull something off, I guess.

The only men I know who are interested in Hello Kitty are gay men. Also, they would prefer the girl's line of Hello Kitty stuff to anything targeted for men.

The only men who I see this appealing to is young Japanese guys. They're very adverturous with fashion and they could probably pull it off.

I think in the Asian market it will work and will go over well. I love vlad and Jan!s idea of spinning off HK and making Hello Lion or Hello Puppy, or Hello Tiger. Though, Hello Tiger sounds like porn wear brought to you by condom manufacturers.
My dude would never ever wear anything that said "Hello Kitty" on it or had the HK image.
