Definately diamonds are my favourite, followed by Australian blue sapphires- dark navy coloured, then pink sapphires!

Can you tell I am biased?? For another stone, Tanzanite is gorgeous.
I love colored stones, especially sapphires (untreated) and tourmalines. Here is a piece I designed for a client!
It is a cushion cut natural ceylon sapphire with two butterflies on the side made of marquise sapphires (treated) and diamonds. The pic quality is not the best as it did not do justice to the ring. The ring is simply breath-taking!

I saw tanzanite for the first time about a month ago while I was browsing in a jewelery store. Oh! That is a beautiful stone. They purple color is so deep and rich!

Diamonds and tanzanite.
Hopefully this summer, I'll buy at least one cut tanzanite before the prices get too high since they're already more expensive than regular diamonds.

I love diamonds, of course & pearls can be super nice too! I'd love a nice pair of black pearls the really big ones! I'd say Mikimoto but I don't know if I want to spend THAT much!
Emeralds can be very nice too! I think thats one of the only "classic" stones I don't have! Mmmmm... must tell DH! LOL!
