Pardon me if I chime in, I usually do not write in this subforum, but I just wanted to add how does it work in Italy, at least here in Florence. From last year, buying a fake bag on the street (who has been here knows that the streets of the city are full with people selling fake everythings!) is considered a crime as well as selling them. So there have been a couple of cases of tourists who were arrested while purchasing a fake Gucci or Prada or other top brand bags and the fine for this is around 10.000 Euro. Nothing happens if people carry a fake, but if they buy it from a clearly identifiable "faker" they are considered as they were committing a crime.
