Does the Brief come in regular hardware?

yes, according to BAL NY, it will be coming in with regular hardware as well.

I saw a black brief at Barney's Chestnut Hill, MA with the regular hardware!

Cal~ It does have tassels on the zip pull on the front on the reg hardware brief.

I saw a black Brief w/regular hardware at both the NMs in Miami. Oddly enough, I don't remember the tassel vs the pull tab on the zipper!! I'm a bit surprised that it has tassels!
