Does anyone know how to date the older Coach leather bags?

I was just wondering if anyone knows how to determine how old an older Coach leather bag is? I know the newer styles have the year in the serial number, but I don't know how to figure out the older bags. I have a small black leather bag, and at the bottom of the creed it states that it was made in New York City. If anyone has any info or any links it would be appreciated.

I have the same question. I pulled out several of my older Coaches and noticed they were made in the US and I could not readily tell the year.

That didn't really help, I thought their might be a way to read the numbers on the creed patch to date the item, like the date codes in the newer pieces. That was a nice resource for older style names though, I saved it, might come in handy someday. Thanks!
