Do cats really cause infertility?

  1. Many people have told me this is true because of the cat hair or parasites that are in cats?..:confused1:
... I really am not sure if this has been scientifically proven or just a myth. I am planning to have babies but I also want to get a cat but not if its going to hurt my chances of getting pregnant. If anyone has any advice please let me know what you think! thanks

  2. Are you referring to Toxoplasmosis? This can be passed onto people and can cause problems in pregnancy. If you've been around cats before you might already have immunity to it, a simple blood test can tell you this.

One thing pregnant women must be careful of is the Kitty Poo-Tray. Coming into contact with kitty poo can transmit toxoplasmosis. I have an immunity to this, but didn't tell hubby as I'd do anything to avoid cleaning the Poo-Tray.

  3. Not infertility (why would they??) but toxoplasmosis is a possïbility, usually with outdoors cats. Other things that may cause toxoplasmosis; raw meat, soil.

  4. I love the way you think:roflmfao:
