Digital Camera Recommendation?

  1. Please recommend a great DC

    must be:

    point and shoot
    under $350
    and at least 6 megapixels

I tried looking on Amazon but I am completely overwhelmed by all the info:p

    TIA:heart:

  2. here are a couple i would recommend:

    sony cybershot dsc-t20 (8mp):
has lots of fun little features, is light, easy to use

    or the canon sd800 (7.1mp):
i don't own this camera, but judging from photos i've seen, the image quality is quite nice for a compact digi. and it's on sale! ;)

    hope this helps :flowers:

  3. the sony dsc t100 (8.1 mp)
the price went down a lot...I paid $400 in june now its $285?? well thats good for you!

its light, easy to use, and has a LOT of features you can use (different shooting modes, image stabilization, color possibilities, etc.) It got one of the highest ratings on cnet and I love it!

  4. I back up those who recommended Canons. I say you can't go wrong with Canon =]

The SD750 & SD800 IS (IS stands for Image Stabilization) are nice, and the SD850 IS is even nicer. I got my SD 850 IS on sale @ Circuit City for $350. If you can be patient, there are deals to be found.

If you don't want what's relatively new (came out w/in the last year or so), then there are even better deals to be found. Just depends on what else you're looking for.

Try cnet.com for reviews, I really like them. They (and sites like Circuit City and Best Buy) will even let you compare the features of a few side-by-side.

  5. i highly recommend this camera!...Canon SD800is.
i have owned this for a good 6 months or so. it takes great pictures...and videos too. i've never had any problems with it. i bought it for $320 but looks like on amazon it's only $287 with free shipping!...can't beat that

  6. I just saw my co-worker new digital - It's a TOUCHSCREEN like the IPHONE!

    From Sony, 8+mp, but I think it's $400. HUGE screen, w/30min video.

  7. I'm actually researching digital cameras myself right now because my husband is buying me one for my birthday! The Canon SD800 has 7.1 megapixels, wide-angle lens, and is currently $299 at J&R Music World (http://www.jr.com/).

The Canon SD870 is the newer version of the SD800 and has 8.0 megapixels and a larger LCD screen. That's $399 at J&R.

The Canon SD850 is basically the same as the SD800, except that it does not have wide-angle photo capability but is 8.0 megapixels. It's $310 at J&R.

The Canon SD800 received great ratings in Consumer Reports- I'm probably either going to get that one or the SD870 because I'm looking for a wide-angle lens. If I wasn't, I would probably get the SD850.

  8. Can't go wrong with Canon cameras!
Check out www.dpreview.com, they are the BEST for totally in-depth reviews of the cameras, side by side comparisons with others, photo tests, etc. Super informative.

  9. Definitely go for a Canon! I just bought mine and did a ton of research.

  10. wow! thank you all:heart:. At least now I have a less confusing selection to choose from.

  11. Highly Recommend this one: Panasonic DMC-LX2

    10.2MP
    Leica lens
$363.43 at Amazon (a little bit over your budget)
