Did you purchase from Manulife? You might be able to get tax back!

  1. If you visit a foreign country, you can in many cases get a portion of the tax back when you leave. After my recent purchase from DeCaterina's, I decided to investigate to see if this would be possible. After some digging and deciphering of confusing government boilerplate, I believe this is possible. Check out this link, http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tax/nonresidents/visitors/individuals/how-e.html. It seems to me that this is possible if you fill out this form, http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pbg/gf/gst176/gst176-07e.pdf, send it to this address:

    Summerside Tax Centre
    Canada Revenue Agency
    Suite 104, 275 Pope Road
    Summerside PE C1N 6C6

You have to include your original receipt and a packing slip, which I am hoping Caterina included in the package. I believe the amount you get back is 7% of the item's cost (not the full 14% tax), but with the cost of my Inferno Zuccca that ain't a small amount. Good luck ladies, I will certainly update you as soon as I hear anything!!
  2. opps... i just read it. read closely:
