I was looking at the black until the SA showed me the petrol! OMG! The hardware is so gorgeous against the petrol! I love the feel of the leather on the black than on the petrol. Although, will the lambskin on petrol get smooshy over time? Appreciate your comments and advice! Many TIA!

No shoulder strap but mulberry will soon be releasing a smaller version with a shoulder strap.

I'd say petrol! Color makes the hardware really pop!
Having said that, you can never go wrong with black

Whenever I was torn between a more "in-fashion" piece and a more classic one and ended up opting for the classic, I regretted it and went on to exchange it.

Therefore, I'd say you go for the petrol one.

Plus, if you're really happy with the Del Rey and decide to get a second one in the future you can always buy the black one, while I am not sure you'll find the petrol even in the outlets. It seems to be a really popular colour and looks great both on the Del Rey and the Bayswater so I doubt there be any left to reach the outlets!
