if the date code is A2 882, on a vintage piece, does that mean it's made in france in august of 1982?
On Vintage Pieces...
In the early 1980's date codes were only three or four numbers no letters.
Late 1980's Three our four numbers followed by two letters ie: 8911-AN
Very early 1990's Two letters followed by four numbers SD-0990
A2-France
882- August 1982
You are correct, however is the date code 882-A2?
well, it's on a vintage noe. on on top of the rivet is the A2, then under the rivet is the 882.
no problem. just to let you know, some fakes have legit datecodes... that's just a "heads-up".Thanks - this is interesting. A few mos. ago a friend won a LV and was not sure if authentic or not. She has since given it to her out of state daugter but at the time I wish I could of helped her deterimine if a fake or not.

I posted a thread in the LV forum asking anyone who had a MC to please read and post the date code for me. There were a couple with SD, I have never seen one either? Any thoughts?
