Creme de La Mer (on oily/acne-prone skin)?

i've used creme de la mer moisturising gel creme,it worked womders on my skin , which had really bad breakout
it is expensive but worth it
but i think u need to change from gel to lotion to creme according to the season and skin type
in uk winter the gel creme didn't suffice and i stilll got flaky skin
else the creme is really a miracle
i've been spoilt by it that i can't go back to any other brand
i also love the face wash, toner, radiant infusion and eye concentrate
the whole list works really well!

I tried so many different lotion and nothing worked well on me, so I spoiled myself one day and bought a bottle of the Oil Absorbing lotion. I have oily t-zone but dehydrated skin. I just finished a bottle and am comtemplating whether to buy a new one. I asked my DH and he said my skin improved over the summer after using it.

I am going to get a La Mer facial done tonight with the specialist as it's the change of season, I will see what she says and whether I should change to the gel or lotion for the winter. But like what some other girls said, you should talk to a specialist and ask them for a sample before buying. Trust me, I've went through MANY samples before spoiling myself with it!

p.s. I just have to say how much I love them for using the gel cream as mask. I love how my whole face is cover with the gel creme coz I would NEVER do that at home! lol

if you want to try it I recommend the oil absorbing or oil free lotion, my skin is sometimes congested and the regular CDLM is too heavy so I use oil absorbing and it is alot better

I have oily, acne-prone skin, and using La Mer products does not help me (personally) one bit. The cream was just too rich for me, and I found that it made me break out even more because it made me even more oily. Now I'm using Chanel's Purete line, and I swear by the serum and moisturizer!

i started using the LM gel creme a few weeks ago for my dry, hormonal acne-prone skin and so far i'm pleased with the result. i don't think the gel creme necessarily prevents breakouts for me per se, but it definitely heals them faster-- i saw the defference right away. the gel creme is not moisturizing enough though and it runs out pretty qucikly, so i bought the creme to supplement the drier areas- will see how that works out.

I used to have seriously oily skin with ridiculously dry cheeks, but the la mer line (I pretty much use the creme, gel creme and moisturizing lotion in conjunction with the hydrating infusion) and staying away from heavier foundations (I now use chantecaille's future skin) seems to have balanced it out. I don't get that oily or too try anymore, except when I'm really tired and stressed.

yes i have bought one too. started using only 3 weeks back. So far so good but i have still yet to see difference on my face. I have combination skin btw...

i have always had oily break out prone skin and now that i'm getting older i am also experiencing some drier areas, especially in the winter, and i've been using their spf 18 fluid tint which i absolutely love! it's sheer but perfect for days when you just want a little coverage and i think it's helping too (it's definitely not hurting and causing any beakouts)!

My skin is combo more oily on the cheeks... And i get acne hormonally and i have been using the La Mer line for the last year and my skin improved a lot. For oily skin i recommend checking out the gel. I used the cream at night only and on the winter time. For me it worked, however my skin is not very sensitive and i do not get many reactions from products in general.

My suggestion is to check samples out first, this line is too expensive to purchase without having an oportunity of trying it first. Good luck!

I have super oily and acne prone skin. The only thing that ever worked for me that actually did something to control the oilies is the oil absorbing lotion. It is not a miracle but it does help a little bit. Nothing else that I have tried helped at all, or they'd break me out. The gel cream for some reason feels drying, even for me. The original cream is way too heavy and I can't use that at all, no matter how little amount I use. I have gone through many bottles of the oil absorbing lotion and will continue to use it. It's pricey for the minimal oil control it does for me, but at least it did something and it's the only thing that ever worked for me.

I have had wonderful results with the Gel De La Mer. I use it as my day cream as it goes on matte and doesn't interfere with my makeup. I have noticed that my skin is clearer, I can't say less oily per se because it depends on what foundation/ primer I use on top of it. I like it a lot and would recommend it! I use it in conjunction with the Eye Balm.

I'm acne prone (thank god for Tazorac!) with combo skin so La Mer doesn't work for me. The cream is too heavy all around and the lotion is not heavy enough for my dry areas. La Prairie works just right for me.

I used to use a tiny sample of the creme back in college once in a blue moon whenever my skin had a sensitive reaction and it worked. Now, 5 years later, my skin is super sensitive and has a allergic reaction to almost everything, I got a 1oz jar of it and use a TINY TINY bit (even less than what most people say is 'all you need') and after using it for for more than a week, I had NO allergic reaction (except for the first day when i accidentally used too much and it made me too oily) and also most of my adult acne (consisting mostly of just whiteheads and blackheads on cheeks, forehead) has settled down and gone away and even helped my skin allergy improve much faster than anything I've ever used.

I really don't know if the hype is all real, but it works for me and I hope it'll continue working! DEFINITELY get a sample if you've never used it before because it is insanely ridiculously pricey. I want to try the gel creme though!
