Cognac Spy - care question

  1. Hello All-
The more I carry my cognac spy, the more I notice that it is lightening around the edges. It almost looks like the leather has dried out and become a lighter color. What type of leather conditioner, if any, would you recommend? Thanks.
  2. Apple Guard Leather Care Conditioner: Apply with a light-hand only to the lightened spots.
  3. Lovin my Bags Luxury leather care: restores color to faded leather and adds a stain repellant and water resistant barrier. It has a pH of 4.5 so it is "chemically" safe for your leather (leather has pH of 4.5-5)

It pulls dirt like crazy too. It is not a soap or detergent based cleaner, so it is safe for unfinished leather as well. Has a great reputation and is backed by professional leather care specialists, so if you have any problems, you can run to them for help (problems with your leather handbag that is):p

    Hope that helps!
  4. Thanks!
  5. I have just noticed this same problem with my Cognac Spy. I thought maybe it had gotten wet, since it just seems to be one part on the bottom.
  6. Ladies the Cognac spy is the only spy purposely made to wear like that.

The leather will lighen and crackle over time to give it a vintage appearance. It was puposely made that way.

You can confirm it with an SA at Fendi. Don't ask an SA at a department store b-cuz half the time they don't have a clue.

  7. Does anyone know--Is this phenomenon true for even the new Cognac Spys (they fade)?

If so, then I am glad I didn't come home with one today!
  8. Thank you for the info, Iluvbags. I was wondering if that was the case. I still can't help but wonder if that's just something they say to make us feel better, you know? If it was more of an even fade I'd be okay with it, but mine looks a bit splotchy in places. Oh well. I still love it.
