Classic Bags/Wardrobe staples - your opinion

  1. I was just thinking the other day about seasonal "it" bags opposed to classic bags. What are the "staple" bags from each major label that every woman should have in her wardrobe? I know people also often speak about "beginners" bag that are supposed to be either more basic or cheaper than the "staple". Anyway, I thought it could be interesting to make a list, here are some bags I could think of:

    Louis Vuitton

    Beginners: Mono pouchette
Staple: Mono Speedy 30 or 25, Papillon Damier

    Beginners: Black Constance
Staple: Black Birkin with palladium hardware

    Beginners: Black Classique
    Staple: Black Medium Le dix

    Beginners: no idea :shrugs:
    Staple: Whiskey Paddington or Edith

    Beginners: Monogram Saddle bag
Staple: Not sure, maybe Lady Dior bag in white?

    Beginners: :shrugs:
    Staple: Black Boogie bag

So what about Prada, Chanel, Bottega Veneta, Goyard etc... Any ideas?
  2. Oooo, don't got much to offer... But GREAT thread.

    Beginners: Nylon tote or backpack
    Staple: Antic Cervo Satchel
  3. For Chanel, the Classic Flap is a wardrobe staple. As for Prada, one of the classic nylon bags. (I know i'm going to get a lot of flack for this!)

  4. I love nylon Pradas! :p My mom's nylon A4 bag was one of my first "expensive" bags and now I own a nylon duffel bag for gym & travel, plus an everyday nylon bag for ****ty weather. So yes, I agree, it's definetly a good beginners purse!
  5. The classics IMO are:

    Chanel - black classic flap
    Bottega Veneta - ball bag
    Gucci - Jackie bag
    Judith Leiber evening bag
    Dior saddle bag
    Balenciaga motorcycle bag
    Fendi baguette
    Marc Jacobs - Blake
    Ferragamo - Marissa
    Hermes - Birkin, Kelly
