Cl Lapono, Rolando, Pigalle... Help!

  1. Hey Ladies,

FYI: I've only purchase PRIVES so far.

    1. Well,I just received my GRAFFITI PIGALLES today (which was the 1st time I'd ever tried on a PIGALLE), and they are a whole size too big! I know how erratic CL's sizing is, but I guess I was just hoping these would fit. Bummer, I love these retro pumps!

This may be a dumb question, but are there any of you who just cannot wear PIGALLES?

Or, do you just wear them anyway, even though your toes feel as if they want to pop out an any second?

They felt rather uncomfortable (my pinky toe didn't feel secure in the pump.)

    2. Also, I just received my Patent LAPONOS and they are incredibly too small! Grrr. My entire foot felt smooshed and couldn't wait to get them off.

Now, I'm freaking out because I have a few ROLANDOS on pre-order and if they fit anything like the LAPONOS...then I'm in big trouble.

Question: Are your PRIVES the same size as your ROLANDE/ROLANDOS? Or, did you have to size up?

(I know my PRIVES size, I'm just hoping my ROLANDOS size will be the same.)

The two CLs I now need to return:

  2. I want the graffiti pump but I can't wear Pigalles because my feet are wide in the front. my sister loves the line though but she has very skinny feet. I wear only a half-size bigger in the rolandos. I find they fit well and close to true to size as CL can get. Leather is more forgiving than suede as the leather can stretch a little.

  3. harlem_cutie,

Woo Hoo! Congrats on your pregnancy!

  4. Butterfly, I find it very difficult to walk in the 5" pigalles. I heard that the new pigalles with the sculpted heel are a bit more comfortable than the original straight heel. But I would never wear pigalles if I was walking by myself, I need an escort to support me when I'm walking in the pigalles. But they do look very sexy on. My toes do feel scrunched in the toe box, but it is bearable (note that I have pretty wide feet). Sometimes I feel that my foot looks like it is overflowing in the pigalles, but everyone seems to think that they look great.
I do love the graffiti pigalles, they look very cool. Sorry that you have to return them.
I don't own the rolandes but I have tried them on, I recall trying on a size 9 (I usually wear an 8.5 in prives), and they felt very small. So I am guessing that they do run pretty small. I did recently get the boots that are a similar shape to the rolande, and I got them in a 9.5. I hope that helps.

  5. This is true for me too. I got my first pair of Pigalles yesterday (black patent) and I do have feet on the wide side. It feels as though I have a bit of overspill on the outer part of the shoe (the part everyone can see!), but everyone tells me they cant tell. Even I cant tell when standing next to a mirror, only if I reach down and look a few inches away from my foot, or if I touch the outer side.

I wonder why this is? Is it just a GREAT design feature of this shoe? It's just so flattering and I wasn't expecting that at all

  6. Hmm, I wonder why that is? I wonder if the sides aren't as low cut?!:shrugs:

Any Ladies who have both the straight & sculpted heel, please let us know if there is a slight difference in fit/design?:flowers:

lol, ditto. Though I've never tried on the 5", I'm pretty positive that I wouldn't last long.

    babiepie,
Congrats on your first purchase! :wlae:

    ----

I'm confused, because I wear a size 35 in the DECOLLETEs, wouldn't I wear the same size in the ROLANDE/ROLANDOs? (they are both closed-toe pumps...similar in the toe-box...no?)

A decollete I had purchased, but returned:

  7. ^^ Not necessarily. I think that if you are going to purchase CLs online, then it's best to go by insole measurements. Even if you buy from Saks.com (the graffitti pigalles they have up, btw, are 4, not the famous, 5-inches), email a seller on eBay with a similar style in your potential size and ask for the measurement.

It's almost the only way you can be sure. Almost every style is a tiny bit different. Closed toe or not has nothing to do with it. Even the same styles sometimes have different sizing depending on the material: suede vs. patent, etc.

  8. This may be a dumb question, but are there any of you who just cannot wear PIGALLES?

--->I initially thought that I couldn't wear PIGALLES, but when I was at NM the other day and saw the original 5" heel, I thought I had to have it. I tried my true size which is 37.5 and though it fit well in the toe area, my foot was pushed forward and there was a lot of room in the heel. It looked about a half to a full size bigger than my normal size. I didn't even attempt walking in them. However, in "my CL shopping zone," the state my mind goes into in which I lose the ability to reason, I had the SA order a 37, so when I receive it I will see if it fits and if I can walk in them. If not, I can officially join the ranks of those who cannot wear them.

Or, do you just wear them anyway, even though your toes feel as if they want to pop out an any second?

They felt rather uncomfortable (my pinky toe didn't feel secure in the pump.)

--->They are cut very low in the toe, so I think it looks and feels like your toes will pop out.

--->The rolandos look like a closed heel pump version of the rolande.

Question: Are your PRIVES the same size as your ROLANDE/ROLANDOS? Or, did you have to size up?

(I know my PRIVES size, I'm just hoping my ROLANDOS size will be the same.)

--->My SA recommended sizing up in the rolandes. I'm a 37 in my v. prives and 37.5 in the n.prives and rolandes. My problem is my toes are on the wide side and my heels are on the small side. I go a half size up in slingbacks for the comfort of my toes and the support of the sling on my heel. If the rolandos have a 4" heel, it might not be as bad as the 5" of the rolandes.

  9. I think it depends on the perspective. When you look straight on in a mirror or straight down, it looks worse. When someone looks from a different vantage point it does not look as bad as what you perceive.

  10. That's the thing. Insole measurements are helpful to an extent. My problem comes with the width. Although, my feet are somewhat wide, I've found that if a 35 (which is what I normally wear) have been stretched & tried on several times by previous customers, then I have a hard time keeping the pumps from sliding off my feet with every step.

Thanks :flowers: That's good to know.

The ROLANDOs I have on pre-order are: a suede, a metallic leather, & a satin...so, I'm hoping that these will stretch a bit. :sweatdrop:

Ditto! I tend to have a problem with the width in the toe-box, yet my heels are constantly slipping out. Yeah, heel liners help, but most of the ones out on the market are too thick and take up a lot of space. I've been meaning to try some footpetals strappy strips instead, perhaps those will work better?

    ---

I remember hearing from someone that CL had a few factories and that his shoes differ from each factory. Maybe this could also be a culprit as to the erratic shoes sizing?

  11. It's as if CL styles are "discrimintory" against wide feet. I know that's not much help, but ... don't give up!!

  12. I've been eyeing the black ones in the picture on the right...are they the ones that were way too small? I guess I'll be sure to try them on first if I get them.

  13. Tell me about it! but, ya gotta admit, he could even make Fred Flintstone's foot look feminine. :p

Yup. I'd say about a 1/2 size too small.

The PIGALLEs were a whole size too large.

  14. Very true. Looking straight down I could swear my feet look like pillows stuffed into shoes, but from the side view (ie. the view everyone but me sees), it looks fine.

  15. Are you talking about the graffit pigalles? Hmm, I didn't think those would be too large. I thought that problem would be limited to the original 5 inch heel. I am trying to find a pigalle style that would work for me.
