both the heart chain and the pink color is the original color of the purse when it was first released.

evychew: Nope, the creases are there to stay. I put tissue paper in the bags when they're stored and this maintains their shape.

Nutnut: This is the original heart chain bag in light pink. Chanel did not change the chain. I suspect they had to use color remover to remove or lighten the color that was left on the bag, light sand the leather with very fine sandpaper and then redye it. I'm guessing this is the process. Whatever they did, I wish I could personally thank the specialist!!

OMG, I remember that auction - I felt so sad for that little bag!!! I can't believe the amazing job Chanel did in restoring it...congrats!!!!! I'm so happy for you - this bag is TDF!!!!!!!!!

I am so jealous...I just sent my beat-up Balenciaga back to Balenciaga for repair. They did such a shoddy, embarrassingly sloppy job on fixing it. They even returned my bag with an extra stain on it that wasn't there before. I don't think the person who did it was anything approaching a professional artisan. Clearly, different design houses have different levels of support when it comes to repairs & refurbishing.

Your bag is just amazingly beautiful; it looks pretty much brand new!!!

Tyaz, I was angry as well. How could someone be so abusive. To put a Chanel in such a wrecked state is beyond my comprehensive. Did a mom buy it for her kid thinking it was a cute purse? Whoever it was doesn't deserve to own a Chanel let alone much anything else -- well a bag of groceries is about it.

omg--that bag is TDF--still need to keep an eye out for one....its totally my HG bag hands down...

what a great job Chanel did and 150 seems to be a small price to pay for the amazing transformation they did!!! =)

Wow, it's like a rebirth!!! :nuts: I remember this auction as well, and the state of the bag was beyond appalling. :wtf: $150 is a small price to pay for such a huge miracle... your bag is absolutely stunning, and I adore it!! :heart: Congrats and enjoy!!! :yahoo:
