Chanel SAs

Pauline is the chanel boutique specialist and she is the coldest ever SA I have ever met. Yes, she is at SF NEiman Chanel. last time I went there, and she is the only available SA there . So I asked to see a bag which is not displayed. She even didn't care for getting the look book even though she said she has it in stock room. Then I was mad and just said: No bother. I will find a better SA ti help me. I went for lunch and waited for my SA Mia back. I don't think she can be a good sales at all.

What the heck is a "Chanel boutique specialist?" I don't give a darn who she is, she has no right to be rude to customers! I guess I've never encountered her, though it sure seems like I'll know her when I do. Urgh, if she gives me that attitude I'll say, "Ah, I've heard about yooooouuuu..." Of course, PF shall remain the anonymous informant. Bah! Hate rude people, SAs or not.

I am a SA and I am totally understand why most SA are acting coldest.

At Neiman and most of Chanel Boutique are 100% commission.
Some boutique like Hawaii SA got hourly pays plus commission.
100% commission is hard.
Which mean....All day their standing waiting to serve you ladies and
if any chance you ladies "Just looking" mean they will not sell a thing and they will go home with "$0".

I don't think most people wanted to go home with "$0" Do you?

Chanel sell an expensive merchandises, For some people buying a Chanel bag is almost like a car shopping.
Sometime we revisiting the bag again and again before you make decision. My shopping style is that way.

It's hard for SA if you show a handbag a wallet etc. and customer come back buy from others SA.

So...maybe their attitude was cold becoz they having a bad day.
Please think next time before you buy your next handbag and be more appreciate your SA.

I totally think their time is money. You wouldn't want to work for free do you?

Well, everything you've written Giagiaja I can well understand...but we all choose the work we do. Regardless of whether you make commission or not, there is no excuse for rudness. The SA is there as the face of Chanel and/or the department store...and I don't really care if they are having a bad day...do you think they care if I'm having one? I'm there to browse and purchase an expensive, high-end item and I will never give my hard earned money to an SA who makes me feel as if I'm the piece of dirt under her shoe. Sorry...maybe that's just me.

I posted this story a week or so ago in the Hermes section, but thought I would put it here since there is a discussion about SA. I do like Chanel and have made many purchases from Chanel. But recently I had an experience in the Chanel boutique in Tysons Galleria that just annoyed me to no end. To make a long story short, while I was in there browsing, carrying my Kelly bag, there was a male SA in there and he called out the word "imposter" at me. Needless to say I was shocked. For so many reasons. And I intend to write a letter to management about it. Not only is my kelly quite authentic, but that is just rude.

And I am sorry to say that overall I do not have very good experiences with Chanel SA...but that one was definitely the worst.

OMG that is just plain rude. I would complain. Did he say this to your face or did he just mumbled and you caught on? either way, he had no right to do that. you are a customer and you should be treated with respected. i am appalled!

The SAs in Munich are very unfriendly and cold and even if they work on a commision base with the attitude they have its no wonder they go home with 0$. I've never experienced so arrogant SAs as at Chanel here and I buy at other very high end stores. I was looking the other day for a new bag and this SA was so unfriendly and obviously annoyed that she had to serve a customer that she was trying to push me into a purchase. I'm always even in situations like this a very polite person so I just told her that I didn't like anything they have and I would prefer to go next door and buy a Dior which I did. Just because I'm a jeans girl it doesn't mean that I can't afford their bags but they have this attitude like. This wasn't my first experience with the Chanel SAs here so they won't get my business. It's all about customer serice and if you are not a people's person one shouldn't work in the retail branch. In all other stores like Dior, Chloe, LV etc. you get very friendly SAs and I tend to buy more when I like the SA. So if I'm buying a Chanel it definetely won't be in Munich even if I have to pay more in the US I will if the service is good.

Well said Tanja! Sorry to say but my mentality is this: Buying a Chanel bag is quite a financial burden. At least it is for me. I wouldn't want to just whip out $2k for a bag on a whim so she can get her paychk. I would browse, browse, then browse some more until I was 110% sure I wanted that bag. If I leave that store w/o buying something b/c I want to be sure, then I shouldn't be chastised or deemed cheap.

I've only looked around the Chanel boutique a couple times but I do have to admit they've been nothing but pleasant to me thus far. If someone called me an imposter however.....the police would be responding, believe you me!

I love my SA at the Chanel boutique on Madison & E. 65 St. in NY. She is a doll. I am closer to the Chanel on E. 57 St but walk over there because I like everyone in there much better. They are all so friendly and helpful and my SA is just the sweetest thing and goes out of her way to help me and give me her honest opinion. She is also actually pretty young and very cool!

I agree with you Shopmom. I had a job where I only made commission. There were days I didn't make any $$, however, I would never ever be rude to somebody just because they were "browsing."

Unfortunetly I haven't had the best experience with Chanel SAs
