Chanel on sale- Peggy from Nordstrom List.

ROEY......speaking as a MOD....if Nordies has an issue with Pfers giving them more business by posting pics.....Feel free to have them contact us.THEN MEGS AND VLAD will deal with it.
I just want to make sure u arent representing Nordstroms.right?

No, not representing them at all; I'm simply speaking as one of their loyal customers. It's not the issue of giving more business to the s/a/store, it's the issue of preferred customers missing out once the info goes public (there have been complaints to that effect; we have a lot of read only members who shop there). The management at Seattle have already been in contact with Megs and Vlad very recently about the lookbooks being posted and I trust they will do the same if they wish to keep presale items private. I very rarely, if ever, report threads or posts or act as a liason between stores (not my job; I have enough to do in a given day), so will not be going back to Nordstrom with the info in this thread. If their rep is reading, he or she will handle it.

^ I believe a simple disclaimer on Peggy's email should serve as notification enough...that she hasn't (I assume, forgive me if I'm wrong) does not make the OP's post wrong, in that case.

I may not be a loyal customer of Nordstrom...considering that I reside overseas....but I feel it's nice to know what's available. I have, with permission from my SA posted bags for sale on tpf and feel that I should share information with everyone (as I have benefited from info. here posted by others).
I didn't realise that Chanel is so exclusive that the public may not have access to the information. If I were to call Peggy directly, or any SA recommended here, I would be disappointed to know that she is withholding info from a potential customer because she is keeping it for her loyal customers.
I'm sorry if posting this is wrong (mods please feel free to let me know) but this is just my opinion.

I understand both sides to this issue.. but it is a bit disappointing to think that Nordstrom would be lamenting the idea that their preferred customers would miss out on a purchase because someone else was faster in contacting them thanks to this forum. You would think that they would appreciate this because they could potentially become "preferred customers" too. I understand that the "preferred customers" are those who have been loyal to the SAs in giving them their business and therefore the SAs want to reward them in a sense for that.. but I don't see anything wrong in posting up information here for the public to see. We have all benefited from this practice and it has lead to the fostering of many beneficial relationships with SAs that we would not have had contact with otherwise. I have not encountered one SA who did not LOVE tPF for helping them..

Either way, I do appreciate the OP's sentiment in posting up this information that otherwise many members would not have been privy to. If Nordstrom wants to, in the future, keep their pre-sale items private, then I guess I will not be one of their "preferred customers" seeing as how it is almost physically impossible for me to purchase from them unless I see some sort of post on this forum. (Seattle is a bit far for me from my location in NorCal!)

PS. That runway bag is out of control! I think I like it.. but I will hold off on calling since I am not on Peggy's mailing list. [edit] Oops I meant I liked the navy quilt... though the runway bag IS out of control! lol!

X Joie - you are in luck - I was e-mailing back and forth with Peggy and surprisingly the navy quilt is still available. Give her a call if you are interested, she is really sweet and helpful.

The navy quilt is available? Crazy! I thought that would be the first bag to go! I think I remember it from being on the website.. but in a different color scheme. Such a pretty bag- and I love the mademoiselle lock!

We have recently had an issue with the look books being posted and them not supposed to be posted. I don't know the SA's at Nordstrom in Seattle personally, but I do respect that there are things they do not want posted etc.

If these items are not supposed to be posted, we can remove them. But I think the SA's should put a disclaimer whether or not photos etc should be posted or should not be. So if anyone can relay that at some point, that would be a help!

Thanks for posting anyhow- stunning bags!

I can't understand something, if someone is a preferred customer and on waiting lists and in direct, communication with their own SA's how can they miss out on presale items if the information goes public. It would seem to me their SA would contact them asap when an item they think their client is interested in, goes on presale is going to go on presale or is received in the store. At least, that is my experience with 2 of my SA's. I have no fear of missing out, once the information goes public....this would be kind of scary concept for me, .and, actually, I encourage my SA's to make their information public for the sake of TPFERs looking for these items. Maybe I don't get this whole keeping presales secret deal......:heart:H

If the SAs don't mind TPFers contacting them regarding items emailed to their "preferred" customers, then what's the problem? Geez, whatever happened to sisterhood?

ETA: if dissemination of the email is prohibited to unsolicited individual then that disclaimer should be expressed within the email.

I have posted pictures that I have received from the same SA in seattle and I know for a fact that she didn't mind.....she is SUPER sweet! When she sends out these e-mails they are meant to be public becuse she specifically says "If you have a friend, or know somebody who would be interested in seeing this email... please forward it!"

I hope this clears matters a little bit!

Megs, and anyone else who is concerned.

I'm sorry my OP has caused a bit of concern. I have never bought anything from Peggy yet, I was let in on her mailing list from a friend. I emailed Peggy, asked to be added and started to get her sale emails. I think it's a great find. I do not think she has any problem with me or anyone else sharing the info as she suggests in her email that we forward it to anyone interested.

Here is Peggy's original email. I hope this helps and settles some of the confusion. Sorry if the thread offended anyone.

"Hello to my friends, customers and women who love handbags!
