Can't Stop Gagging (Making Vomiting Noises)

  1. For a few days now, everytime I see food and think of food, I just gag and it's so annoying. It just isn't one time, it's a lot of times. Probably 10 or more times. It's really getting unbearable.

I've already seen a doctor and he wasn't much help. He didn't tell me anything on how to deal with it. I e-mailed my other doctor and she just said to drink lots of fluids but it doesn't help much.

I don't know what to do. I'm tired of this. It's like I want to vomit but I can't cause there's nothing in my stomach so I just end up gagging.

I've tried googling for answers but all I can are dirty websites about gagging :-\ Ugh, any advice? :confused1:
  2. That is strange. Are you certain you aren't pregnant? That is the only thing that comes to my mind.
  3. I'm 100% sure I'm not pregnant because I've never had sex.
  4. Well, the first thing that comes to mind is pregnancy. BUT...if you;re a virgin then thats pretty much impossible. The only advice I can give is to see a doctor(which youve already done). I wish I could help:hrmm:
    Good luck.
  5. That is very strange indeed. Do you feel sick throughout the day or just when u look at food? Have you been able to eat?
  6. What about acid reflux? Different people can have different symptoms while having the same medical condition. Maybe you could try taking Prilosec OTC for a week or so to see if you feel better? :confused1:

You definitely need to see a gastroenterology specialist, especially considering that your primary care physician isn't doing anything about this.
  7. Yes, please do see a specialist if this continues.
  8. A gastro. specialist was my first thought,as mokoni suggested. It must be so frustrating as well as very unpleasant for you. good luc.
  9. I think acid reflux. It's a pretty vicious cycle - can't eat, stomach is acidic, gag more and can't eat....
  10. Really sorry to hear this. How long has it being going on? Could it be the flu and nothing is coming up because you can't eat? Or has this been going on for a while?

I would highly suggesting going back to the DR or asking for a referral to a gastro specialist

    Feel better!
