Can women pull off wearing men's belts?

My husband bought a Ferragamo belt a few months ago, and I believe it's the Men's Classic "Double Gancini" Reversible Belt shown here: http://******/2bCIE63

However, he only ever wore it once, and he has since decided it's too flashy for him. I think it's stunning, and I'm really tempted to have it cut down so I can wear it myself. But does that look odd? I'm not otherwise a Ferragamo devotee, and it's hard for me to judge whether I would simply look like I was wearing my husband's belt.

What do you think?

Absolutely, I do. Although I own only 2 belts, both are Ferragamo men
