blackheads.. help!!

I get facials once per month, somtimes with a chemical peel, and my face is never red. My facialist extracts any blackheads I might have during these monthly facials.

Definitely exfoliate more often and use the QH's Mint Julep mask. I had a hard time believing something so cheap would work wonders, but it does. Tried and true!

I use biore's pore strips, then Isadermix's microdermabrasion treatment, followed by shiseido hydro-purifying mask, then biotherm aquasource moisturizing mask as a facial treatment.

it does sound very harsh to my skin, but really its very good! i hate black heads, white heads, or any sort of dirt on my face, and so far, its been very healthy.

No matter what treatments you use, it wouldn't be very effective cos blackheads are the results of clogged pores. First, go for a facial that has extractions, to clear up the clogged pores / blackheads / white heads. Then, use a daily treatment to prevent blackheads - I like Skinceuticals Daily Moisture and Renew Overnight Combi-Oily Skin.

I just wanted to share a GREAT tip I read on MUA! I posted before about MB Silver Powder, which is meant to dissolve the crud in clogged pores. You're supposed to just use it as a mask, which is mildly effective on its own.... Their tip was to do the mask as usual, but follow it directly with a Biore pore strip. Supposedly the mask makes the blackheads come out a lot easier. Welllll.... It totally works! It's the first time in my life a Biore strip actually did what it was supposed to do! It didn't get rid of all my blackheads, but it got rid of at least half. I followed it with glycolic toner (which stung like a mofo), and I woke up with practically invisible pores on my nose! :wtf:

The blackheads on my nose are the WORST!!! - i have tried every type of exfoliate, lotion, cream, home remedy, pore strip, chemical peel, facial, extractions and laser you can think of - name it, i have tired it.............i am SO self-consious of it

The only thing that somewhat helped was the Obagi regiem after about 4 months and heavy duty amount of Retin-A every night which made my skin senstive, red and peel like crazy

Eventho with all of that - it only "helped' the problem, not get rid of it --- i have excepted that fact that i will alwyas have them

I had a make up artist tell me (when I worked for Lancome) that you should get regular facials with extractions and then use a facial regimen that includes products that have salicylic acid. The combo of the two will get rid of and prevent blackheads.

I battle with them, I noticed ProActiv helped a good bit but once I quit using it they came back really bad. I have the queen anne's but haven't used it regularly enough to say if it works or not but I do know when I use it I can tell a small difference. The biore strips never do much for me.

about blackheads... i can't help but squeeze them especially when
they are "ripe"... is the right thing to do never touch them .. then what happens
over time ? do they fall off .. ? how do they then disappear from your face ?

if you mean the little ones most people have on their nose, they may dry up as your skin becomes less oily over time or you go through hormonal changes. but in the short term blackheads usually come back no matter what you do cosmetically to your skin..basically there is a pore, which is always going to be there. Plus there is an oil gland which is there to produce oil. there is no way to "stop" the function of either and the result is a black head.

Bigger ones that are more like black zits ( sorry gross lol) are a different story those can be cleared up with products containing salyclic acid just like other acne can

like what many said, i also squeeze them out... i know it's not good but i find it addicting esp. when im sitting in front of my 10X zoom mirror. The hard to squeeze ones gets a little help from Mr. Tweezerman (since they are so sharp and pointy!)

it's nasty but addicting !! lol
