Good morning, I have this early City Bag in bone that I have a note to myself saying I purchased on eBay in 2013. Also, I'm hoping this lighter weight drawstring Tote I purchased on eBay about same time is genuine. The Creed in the black is impossible to read because the imprint is light. The best I can make out even using a magnifying glass is 762-6864, and I'm not positive about that. The oval base measures 10 1/2" x 5" and it's 10" high. Is this enough to authenticate? More photos in a minute. Thanks for any opinions.

Here are more of the drawstring
Both are fine. The first is a convertible clutch, not a city bag. The second is a Lightweights Shoulder Pouch 4025 from around 1989.

Testing my recognition skills. Please confirm my suspicions or clarify my assumptions. TIA.

Comments: Per the Daria48 guide: Creed with "D2J" prefix identifier and "Made in United States" in text.
Yes, it's fake. The J plant was used in the US early in the 90s for clothing only, so you would never see it on a bag. By 2000, the J code designated a China plant that was used for purses, so a D2J prefix could be valid in a bag made in China. There are other problems with the bag such as the shape and size of the pocket, and the lack of stitching around the zipper pull.
