Another Python film 'set for stage' Thursday February 15, 05:43 AM Monty Python star Eric Idle is set to follow hit musical Spamalot with a show based on the troupe's cult film Life Of Brian. The "comic oratorio" titled Not The Messiah (He's A Very Naughty Boy) will have its world premiere in Toronto in June, according to Variety. Idle, 63, was tight-lipped about details but told the trade magazine: "I promise it will be funnier than Handel, although probably not as good." It is unknown whether it will include the 1979 Life Of Brian film's best-known tune, Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life. Spamalot, based on the film Monty Python And The Holy Grail, won three Tony awards including best musical after opening on Broadway in March 2005. A national tour and a West End production followed. Not The Messiah was commissioned by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, whose music director, Peter Oundjian, is Idle's cousin. But the comedian insisted that had nothing to do with his decision. "Who would want to work with their relatives, anyway?" he asked. "They're usually unpleasant, dishonest and slow to pick up the cheque." I canNOT wait for this! I enjoyed Spamalot! so much!
