A Chanel specialist that does not know what a 227 or 228 reissue is???

OMG ILB!! I just had a really similar encounter last week at the boutique, except that the SA wasn't quite as rude. The SA was showing me a light silver reissue and I asked if it was the 227 size...she proceeded to tell me that it was a 2.55. Even after I tried to explain my question, she insisted that the bag is a 2.55 in a rather condescending tone and condescending expression to match! I just shook my head, reached for the tag, and confirmed that it was indeed the 227 size. I found it quite the amusing experience!!! :nogood:

THAT IS SO FUNNY. just had another SA also say they did not know the size and that the bag is a 2.55! LOL Once I asked the price, I knew it was a 227. LOL....she told me I should work for Chanel.

I don't expect all SA's to know everything about every bag, but the Chanel specialist I deal with at NM absolutely knows the sizes of the 2.55 "re-issue." At least the SA should know whether or not different sizes exist before she acts as if you're an idiot. At least you can tell from the price it's a 228, but that isn't very comforting. :tdown:

sorry to hear that... some people are just get defensive when they don't know what they're talking about. maybe if they bluster enough, you will think that they know what they're talking about.

next time that happens... call back and ask for someone else or something. or go to the thread that has some of the tpfers fav sa's and call one of them.

Instead she chose to be rude.

I totally get the fact that SA's might use different terminology or not know everysingle thing about every single bag......but come on......she never once volunteered to check into it or do any research. She just let it go.

Apparently the style number has changed on the new metallics. Chanel is no longer calling them the 228.
but its basically the same size.

Another SA says it looks to be a little longer and not as tall? I dunno. I passed. It costs too much anyway :P

I feel SO much better hearing this from others! I bought a dark silver reissue yesterday and had the same thing happen! The SA was really sweet though, and when I asked if the bag was a 227 or a 226, she said it was a 2.55. She then explained all about the meaning of the 2.55, how the chain was the same as the orginal etc etc. I too could tell that the bag was a 227 when I saw A30227 on the tag but, the experience was totally confusing!!! Oh well, I love the bag!! :smile:
