I recently bought these super adorable Cynthia Steffe shorts on Gilt, but it's fall now... so, I need to wear them quickly! I have no idea what to wear with them, though! They're high-waisted, so I'd need a top that works well that way.
![]() TIA! And just to help a little, they're actually more off-white than you'd think from looking at the pic. |

They are adorable!
For summer/spring I'd pair this with a navy or cream singlet (tucked in of course) and metallic flats or sandals (preferably gold), you could also go nautical and pair with cream flat sneakers and a skinny belt (red) with some bracelets (either metallic or along the blue, white and red theme). I also think you could wear these in fall (if where you live doesn't get freezing ). For fall I'd wear your shorts with navy/black opaque tights and a white, black, or red t-shirt (cap sleeve) and pair it with a grey long sleeve cardi and a black blazer over the top. You could also wear a scarf and forgo the cardi or blazer (whatever you prefer) or not

Can you give me some suggestions/photos of shirts? I would have to go out and buy some because I only have v necks, and I feel like that's too casual.

Well I suppose it depends... are you wanting to wear these shorts both casually and formally?
If casually, then your v-necks are fine, v-necks can also look dressy depending on the fabric of the shirt, a jersey shirt is obviously unlikely to look dressy whereas a silk/cashmere blend can look more luxe (not that I'm suggesting you need to go out and buy things!). I personally try to buy things that I can/would wear with other items already in my wardrobe, then I can avoid unnecessary spending ![]() You could also try a classic white button-up shirt with the shorts and maroon tights with black pumps or flats. |
