Default what to wear with black denim jacket?

I have a couple of black denim jackets. One is a blazer and the other is a plain cropped jacket. What pants or jeans should I wear these with?

Lot of neutrals to choose from: tan chinos, white pants or jeans, some cool grey pinstripe or windowpane (either of them in a very subtle stripe). Maybe even brown slacks with a small houndstooth in black, or the other subtle patterns I mentioned before.

Also, with some dresses, maybe jewel-toned, not too, too dressy, or with DVF-style prints that will look nice with either jacket, depending upon the dress style.. (recommend the crop with dresses)

Maybe even Royal blue (not certain about that one)

Hope I am not too off-the wall here!

years ago i had a gorgeous blk denim fitted blazer & i wore it with soft fabrics & pretty dresses to tone down the harshness of the blk denim.

truth be told, you have to play around with what you already have in your wardrobe, b/c if not done right it could look like a fashion faux paus . jmo
