I can't stand it when men wear sneakers/running shoes with slacks/suits. I've seen it a few times and I just cringe.

What bothers me:

1. Grandmas trying to look young who end up looking like ancient desperate housewives in juicy sweats and uggs.
2. Teenagers trying to look grown who end up looking like they work the streets.
3. Women trying to look sexy in a tight outfit who end up looking like a meal of sausages and rolls.
4. Women who are blessed in the chest and refuse to wear bras who end up looking like jello up there or like a porn star or both.
I was going to say #1. My MIL is famous for this. Juicy sweats in all different colors. Once my husband and kids and I were going to dress in sweats just like her to pick her up at the airport.

Men who refuse to respect the dress code of a nice restaurant. No sneakers means NO SNEAKERS! My best friend's DH ruined a special dinner because he insisted on wearing sneakers and then got angry when the restaurant wouldn't seat them. WTF?

A big no-no I see in my office building is the failed attempt to mix prints. It think it's okay to mix some prints, but not plaid and stripes! Or paisley and any other print. Or horizontal and vertical stripes! The offenders in my building look like they got dressed in the dark! And there are so many of them!

Visible undies in the workplace. My office is "business casual," but that doesn't mean "everyone wants to see that you have a leopard print bra on."

See my list below:

1) visible panty lines
2) white flipflops on guys- don't know why but it bothers me
3) wearing sunglasses when it is night time or when you are indoors
4) clothing too tight where stomach rolls hang out
5) socks with birkenstocks

Also I get annoyed with denim on denim- either stick to jeans or a jean jacket not both (especially when the denim for the top is different than the bottom).

My number 1 pet clothing peeve is when women don't cut the thread sewn over a back vent on a coat/jacket... THIS IS MEANT TO BE CUT OFF PEOPLE! It's a back VENT! lol

Others that bother me:
White sunglasses
Formal, long, bedazzled dresses worn to a day or outdoor wedding
Clogs
In the workplace, sloppy dressing. You know, like sweater coats, legging type pants (usually worn by older women), oh and I hate those "menswear" vests, usually worn with my next item:
Button up blouses not tucked in
People dressing way too casually on Jeans Day at work. Sneakers, uggs, skinny jeans, or tank tops are not appropriate for a business environment even if it's "jeans day"

My pet peeve is when people mimic celebrities. I live in a small agricultural college town and yesterday I saw a woman at a bookstore who looked like she copied Kim kardashians style from head to toe. Just in the context of where we live it was hilarious to see someone strut around carrying a pedigree dog in a rhinestone collar.

Sweatpants tucked into ugg boots :S

And a guy wearing head to toe Audigier (hat, tee, hoodie, shoes). I wanted to laugh at him, but I thought I might get shot LOL.

OH! And a woman wearing a really sheer nude colored dress...not only could you see her black thong (seriously, why would you wear a black thong with a light colored dress?) you could actually see her whole bum through it!

All you youngsters are going to be old one day. Remember that. :)

A desperate housewive (that doesn't own any Juicy Couture).

Fashion pet peeves

1. muffin top
2. clothes that hug in all the wrong places - too little clothes are not flattering
3. visibly jacked up feet in sandals ( so gross!)
4. visible bra straps
5. visible panty lines
6. holiday themed sweaters
7. ashy, crusty feet in open toe or heel exposed shoes
8. chipped nail polish
9. young girls dressing too provocative
10. men and boys with sagging pants ( I am tired of looking at butts and underwear especially dirty undies - yuck!)
11. the escaped pinky toe - the toe that sticks out of the straps of the sandal and refuses to be contained and grazes the ground. Ladies that is NOT cute!

I can go on and on........

Yeah of course, but when you have a plethora of older ladies with such amazing style and grace as Anna Wintour, Jane Birkin, Michelle Obama, Catherine Deneuve to name but a few in the public eye, citing age as a reason for less than great style choices becomes a bit of a hollow argument.

My mother is 55 years old, a medical specialist working 6 days a week, 10 hours a day and she still makes sure she looks good. Has just bought a gorgeous Alexander McQueen red dress from Net-a-Porter for the party season and she looks amazing in it. It is all possible and it is so inspiring for us younger women to see older ladies dressing spectacularly and stylishly
