Hi,
What are the rules for weddings. Are you OK to wear cream? Or is it bad luck for the bride or something like that? TIA x |

Cream is OK but I'd avoid head to toe as it's seen as trying to upstage the bride (similarly white is a complete no-no!!). If you have a cream outfit, try and wear a different colour with it..a lavender shawl or a little fuschia cardigan / shrug etc..or accessories with colour.
Black is another colour that is fine for evening but can look depressing for the ceremony (unless there is a splash of colour as well...e.g. dress with a print). Have fun! |

you know I went to a wedding very recently and there was a lady wearing a white dress with a train that was not the bride. Let's just say the guests did not take a liking to her dress very well.
The armani dress sounds fine for the wedding. Do you have pictures? I would love to see it because I love butterflies. Have fun at the weddin!

i just went to a wedding and there was a girl wearing a cream colored dress with tiny black flowers towards the bottom of it. it looked bad because she was the only guest wearing cream/white, and people were talking about it. i'd avoid cream- esp if you're not sure if the bride's gown is white or cream

I would avoid cream. Many brides wear cream colored dresses.

I would avoid anything in the white/cream family ~ a wedding is supposed to be a special day for the bride . . . IMO

My wedding dress was cream-colored, and someone wore cream and white to my wedding. She didn't do it to be mean -- she just didn't think about it, but I still felt a little awkward. So I'd say definitely stay far away from those colors -- I mean, that leaves pretty much every other color in the world, right? It should be pretty easy to find something awesome to wear.

lol, I think I'm the only one who wouldn't have a problem with someone wearing white / cream to my wedding!
![]() I honestly think that for a summer wedding, a white sundress with maybe some pink accessories or so would actually look very nice...as long as it doesn't look like a wedding dress and you play down the white / cream it would be fine IMO.

I can't understand why anyone would wear white to a wedding. Would these same people wear white dresses to every other party they attend? I think wearing black is perfectly fine, but I live in a major city where we wear black all the time, so it's no different when it comes to weddings. They make dresses in so many colors, why even glance at the white dress on the rack?

yes! i agree with majority of people on here as far as the white (big no no) and cream - just try to avoid it. black is fine but not plain black.
also, just a quick question, is it better to be on the conservative side for a wedding (no cleavage, etc.?) http://www1.macys.com/catalog/produc...Type=EverGreen I bought this dress (in the dark blue gray color of course - no modeling pics of it though) and when i tried it on, my boobs show somewhat since the cut of the top part is a V..do you guys think it's appropriate to wear this to a wedding especially since the top part is kind of tight on me..?

I always personally thought it was rude to wear white or red to a wedding.... IMO

you are right! omg i totally forgot about the ceremony @ the church. I think I will do the shawl thing for the ceremony. but then at the party/reception, it would be appropriate to just wear the dress w/out the shawl?
