Default Wackiest Piece of Clothing you Ever Purchased???

Today, I bought mine!! I have some very unique clothes in my closet, as I love vintage...and anything different. I am also an avid garage saler, and thrift store shopper...therefore adding to the unique array of items in my closet! Today, I bought the icing on the cake...a vintage car racing one-piece zip up outfit in hot pink satin. It is fantastic, and has the racing patches, and even a few rhinestones scattered about!! Why...you might ask...would I purchase this bit of silliness??? Well...apart from being fabulously, obnoxiously fantastic...I plan on it being my Halloween outfit. Also, it was only $2.00, and is amazing quality, and in excellent condition!
I felt a bit foolish taking it home...but once the heels were added, and I imagined the helmet with the whole ensemble...I knew I had a great Halloween outfit, that is completely appropriate for a Mom!!! I will add some pics later...but until then, I am interested to know who else has fun, but pretty much useless items in their closet???!!!!

That sounds like a fun outfit!

Mine is this volume-y silver, sparkly dress with a a giant bow+brooch near the shoulder. I wore it once, and I kind of looked like a visitor from space. Or a baked potato. I don't usually wear things like that.

had a "club kid" "rave" period during the 90s. Yes, I have a semi see thorugh ish t-shirt with silver glitter in it so it seems "wet" from a distance. I also have a big, eggshell pair of pants with de-atatchable "glow in the dark" ornaments on the side of each leg, blue metallic shoes and a top that's electric yellow and black. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately ) I was too young (like 10-14) to go to the real parties. I only used those items for stage performances after I bought them.

That sounds like a fun outfit!

I think the wackiest piece of clothing I've ever purchased was a metallic silver floral-patterned pencil skirt. It's very pretty, in a tacky sort of way, but it's just not my style at all. Plus, I've had it for over 3 years and I haven't been able to find a shirt that goes with it, so I've never even worn it. I found it at the Sak's Fifth Avenue outlet for about $10.

Mine is a vintage Lanvin full-length dress with crazy Japanese Kubuki masks and temples all over it. CRAZY looking! But, I hoard Lanvin and collect Japanese artwork, so it is a fun piece to have in my collection.

When I was a kid, I really liked Ghostbusters and bought a grey jumpsuit almost identical to the one the guys wore on screen. Thought I was dead cool...

Also had a pair of skin tight black and white pin stripe trousers that I wore with a purple silk shirt, cowboy boots and a fringed black leather jacket. Hair like a burst sofa (a la Joey Tempest / Jon Bon Jovi)...yes I was a ROCK CHICK!!!

Some of these outfits sound hilarious.

My craziest clothing purchase was a pair of pink snakeskin patterned pants. I rocked them, though

I thrifted a vintage, most likely 80's, Lillie Rubin dress. It's absolutely amazing, it's got dark purple lace over shiny purple fabric and lots of purple sequins all over it, and it's about knee-length. The really crazy part about it though is that it has a dark pirple feather boa bottom to it. I bought it to use as a Halloween sotume and also for photoshoots, sadly it's a bit too small on me. But I figure I can use it on a really cool photoshoot if I find a thin enough model to fit in it!

Not exactly a purchase, but I once "borrowed" my mom's vintage Versace jeans and wore them a few years ago when skinny jeans were coming in. Tucked my red T-shirt in, put my chucks on, and went to school. I don't know what I was thinking (I wasn't), but everyone complemented my outfit and wanted to know where I got the jeans.

As for my purchases, I'd have to say gaudy hawaiian shirts from thrift town. They're good brands and nice and soft... but I really have no practical use for them. They are incredibly cool and I guess I'm always set for a hawaiian party.

I NEED to see a picture of your pink jumpsuit.
