Ugh, they forgot to take the security tag off the clothes I bought!

I bought a shirt at VS for my friend but they forgot to remove the security tag! The security beeper didn't even go off when we left the store! I didn't find this out either until I got home, could I bring it back and would they take it off if I show them the receipt? Thanks for the info!

Yes, bring it back with the receipt and they will take it off for you. I had this happen once with a coat that I bought while out of town!!! Grrrrrr.

OMG this happened to me too! Not only at VS but it has happened at other stores.
Anyway, about the VS one, a friend found a sweater for me that I had been desperately looking for, but when I received it in the mail, the security tag was still attached! I guess it hadn't beeped for her on the way out the door.
So I took it back to the store in all the wrapping with the receipt and they removed it for me.
Also, last week, I had a gift card for VS to spend so I got some Dream Angels Heavenly perfume and on the way out the door, I beeped. So the girl at the door had me go back because apparently, the girls at the register always forget to deactivate the sensors on the beauty products.

Anyway, this is about the 3rd time it has happened to me (one time it was in Macy's on a shirt, I took it back with the receipt and they removed it for me) and each time everyone was really nice about it.

of course! this has happened to me a couple of times as well, obviously you'll want to avoid wandering around the store browsing for an hour first

That sucks! Take it back and let them remove it for you.

My little sis had this one time too in her Diddl wallet, they didn't remove some security strip, but she didn't know what it was so she just let it there. But whenever she walks into a store with her Diddl wallet the security beeper will go of, in any store! Very annoying.

Definitely bring it back and they will remove the tag for you. It happened once to me when buying a pair of Paul Frank PJs at Macy's too. It didn't beep at all when I left the store, but when I went to another Macy's to get the tag removed, the security tag beeped. Perhaps defective machines??

They'll take it off for you, but it is such a pain to have to go back to the mall just for that.

This once happened to me at Saks well I live in Canada & was visiting the US so I had to wait till my next visit to the US in order to wear the dress so they could remove the tag as we don't have Saks here, I was fuming mad

happen to me once, a 2.00 aropostale short. i was too lazy to bring the 2.00 short back to the store to have it removed. but i did like...after 1 month and they still removed it for me.
