I apologize if this is in the wrong place. I didn't see a separate section for Kate Spade so I thought I would ask here first. Are her bags and shoes worth the money? They look cute online, but I haven't seen her line in person (except for the small microfiber evening bag I got a few years ago at an outlet store). Any thoughts/opinions? Thanks!

I have a pair of shoes that I got in January from her (black patent leather w/ rounded toe and stacked heel). They are comfortable yet a bit thin under the ball of the foot IMO but a footpad helps. I can't remember how much they were (my mom bought them) but I would try a pair on sale and then see. Never had any of her bags.

Not sure about shoes, but her bags are definitely not worth it. I had a friend who was trying to start a line of handbags and was able to research how different brands make their bags, and kate spade is one of the lowest quality brands. Also, the resale value is almost nothing; you can always find her stuff on sale or even super cheap on eBay.

I have a relative who is into kate spade bags... I guess they're reasonably priced and really really casual if you're looking for that.

Sometimes I don't like to wear expensive bags everyday to work/school because I tend to be active and will wear them out during the day...

I think her stuff is cute, but over-rated.

She does make cute glasses frames at a reasonable price.

KS was so IT back in the mid 90s. I remember saving to buy a couple of her basic black nylon bags during my school breaks and I still have them from 1997/98 and they are in great shape!! NM bought a majority stake in her company a while after that and thats when I think her quality went down. She moved production to china and it was knocked off as much as LV. even the gap made copies of her bags. Strangely enough many styles from a decade ago and priced the same today.

Her shoes I think are her best focus. The leather is nice and soft and a lot of women wear them for work into night shoes. The heels are slim and flattering also.

Kate Spade has pretty nice clutches. I like this one:

The wallets aren't very nice though. I got this for Christmas last year, but I haven't used it because it doesn't really suit my taste.

Not sure about her shoes, but I wouldn't say that her classic fabric / nylon bags are that great, but she had a FAB bag in her collection a few years ago that had the softest leather I've ever felt..it was amazing!

My black leather Kate Spade bag is awesome. I've had it for almost 4 years and love it. Nylon or canvas will wear more so I don't expect much from those types of bags. I got a few items from a sample sale a few years ago and they have held up nicely.
I have a really fun yellow & green pair of sandals but don't wear them much.

Over-rated! But just my opinion.

I think they are not the real "hot" brand anymore unlike MJ or M Kors. And like someone else said, their goods don't fetch good resale value.

I think KS is overrated as well. And I don't think her items are worth the amount they charge for them.

I have a few bags from the linen collection. I personally loved that line. Not a huge fan of the nylon bags. I also love her sunglasses.
