Default Sunglasses, what shape, size?

Hi, I am finally going to retire my Dior sunglasses that I've had for about a year. I am in the hunt for new ones but I am not sure if the 'big' sunnies trend is staying.. I don't want to spend $200-$400 in sunglasses that might end up not being in style in 2 months.

I have seen a couple of oversized aviatior style ones that I really like, what do you guys think is the safest, most fashionable way to go?

TIA!

safe and fashionable: the 'normal' large sunglasses - can't describe it very well but by that I don't mean over over sized. but I have had normal large sunglasses for years now and I can't say they are ever out of style.

aviators are great but the classic shape so doesn't suit me. I'd say try them out - the only way to know whether they are for you.

I will see if I can find a pic of what I mean - btw, I'd say anything by Tom Ford (maybe not the Whitney as it may be over soon?), Oliver Peoples or Chanel can't be wrong in my book

right now i love gold-rimmed aviators and white frames with dark shades.

but for classic ones that are safe, i agree with lara0122, go with dark and a bit rectangular. Here are some I like:

though, those might not work for you. It really all depends on your face shape and your taste. Have fun!

I consider Aviators total classics. I mean, they've been around for quite a while and I really like how they look. I think you'd be safe with a pair of those.

Two of the most important factors when shopping for sunnies (well, at least to me) are: 1. buy sunglasses that suit YOUR face (never mind what the trend is); 2. make sure the fit is comfortable (there is nothing I hate more than seeing someone adjusting their sunnies 1000 times while they are talking to you). If you don't want to spend a lot of money on sunnies but still want trendy, H&M is the way to go! They have awesome sunnies that are styled after the latest trends and cost pennies! eBay is another great alternative (the only downside is that you can't try them on so you have to know what style suits you, etc.).
