Default Shopping in the Mens Department?

Have you ever shopped for yourself in the mens department before? I've never thought to before, but lately I've seen a few girls wearing mens clothing.. I'm still on the fence about the whole thing, I'm just wondering what every one thinks of it??

here's a picture of Lauren Conrad wearing a Men's shirt from Urban Outfitters.

I do it ALL the time. Hell, probably 80% of my clothes are men's.

I have to have 2 sets of clothes --- work clothes and casual/everyday clothes.

My work clothes are all women's, including the nicest and latest fashions.

My casual clothes are almost all uni-sex men's clothes. I just wear pants and usually band t-shirts. I buy men's clothes that are uni-sex and don't really "scream" at the top of their lungs that they're men's, plus I buy them from my husband's store with a nice fat discount.

I've been doing it for years. My mom's been doing it for years. This past summer she couldn't find any longer jean shorts that she liked, so she bought men's and loves them!!!

Don't be afraid!! Remember clothes are just clothes in the store, when you take them home, you get to make them your own. You can take something that you like from the men's section and make it work for you and make it your own.

A lot of designers, such as Dries van Noten, even encourage women to wear the men's line and make the mens stuff in smaller sizes so that women can buy them. People do it all the time and there is nothing wrong with buying mens clothes. Just keep fit issues in mind so that you don't look like you are playing dress up!

I am definitely not against the idea of unisex clothing.

Some of the most flattering peacoats and winter jackets I've purchased have been womens...only because they tend to have a softer view and more rounded silhouette(only in neutrals of course, nothing frilly). I also have mens jackets and stuff too but sometimes if it looks good, I can't pass it up. No matter what section it's in.

It's also a great idea to buy a mens white shirt(cause they tend to be a bit larger) and pair it with a pair of skinny jeans and a belt tied at the waist or just above. Make sure it's semi large so the eyes go for the belt and make that the focal point. It gives a very "loose" feel while still remaining classic, and makes you look taller. I do it for my mom all the time. Belts are always better than drapery clothing.

I buy men's polo shirts and also true religion jeans. Also boght the perfect white shirt from J. Crew.com, man's

I am on the large end of a women's US size 14, so TR women's don't run large enough :o(

I hate "gap-osis" with button shirts, and the man's J Crew style fit perfectly - especially since popular cut for men is slimmer thse days. The polos are relaxed but not huge...

I've seen women wearing men's clothes and it can look pretty good! I wouldn't though, I would have some issues with sizing.
