Default Seattle - Where To Shop?

Hi Ladies,

I'm going to the West Coast for the first time this summer...

Starting out in Washington State.

I have only been shopping in New York and Washington D.C. before,

So where does a girl who loves her purses, brilliant shoes and beautiful dreasses go shopping in say for example - SEATTLE?

Will the sale be totally over by mid July?

I'll be greatful for any kind of advice - also with regards to sightseeing..

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE,

Nordstrom - wonderful service, and stocks everything you could possibly need. Also check out Nordstrom Rack, which has designer clothes, shoes and other accessories at a fraction of the original price.

Most of the shopping downtown is concentrated in the area around Nordstrom, so it's all very walkable. Also, check out Fremont, a neighbourhood in Seattle which has some lovely boutiques. If you like factory outlet shopping, take a drive up to Tulalip.

As for sightseeing, start off with Pike Place Market, take a stroll around, visit the first ever Starbucks there, have some clam chowder at Pike Place Chowder, browse in the wonderful second hand bookstores in the area. You can also take a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island, it's a great way to see the city from the water. Go to the Olympic Sculpture Park and the Space Needle if you feel like more sightseeing. If you have more time, you can even take a trip to Vancouver :)

Have fun. I love Seattle, and I don't even live in the States!

If you have time, be sure to check out Bellevue Square mall in Bellevue. There are also some great stores downtown.

Also, if you like seafood, stop by Ivar's!

^^ Yeah, Nordstrom and Bellevue Square are my 2 suggestions as well. If you just go walking around the downtown area you'll find loads of nice shops as well.
Have fun!

Looks like the main shopping has been noted already. If you like sightseeing, you might also check out information on a tour of the Underground, the Museum of Flight out by Boeing, or the Pacific Science Center - they're all a fun afternoon. Funny, I don't actually know of anyone who's been to the Musical Experience.
If you like natural vistas & have the time, Deception Pass up northern Washington is pretty gorgeous.

Pacific Place in downtown Seattle is a great start. Then head over to downtown bellevue, 15 minutes away.

I love Seattle. One of my most favorite places to visit. Make sure to go to Pike Place Market and try the cruise along the Puget Sound.

Downtown Seattle has some great shopping in the Pacific Place mall (Barneys, BCBG, Tiffanys, etc)...Nordstrom is across the street...and if you go up 5th Ave there is Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Sephora, Betsey Johnson, etc.
Also in Seattle you should check out University Village. They have a great cheap sushi place called Blue C and a lovely boutique called Mercer as well as a few others.

Bellevue is also an absolutely wonderful place to shop--everything you need is in Bellevue Square, and there is also a boutique called Derek Andrew (the owners founded and design Twill 22 and Twisted Heart) and a shoe store called Posh on Main.

If you're stopping in Portland, you should check out Saks and Nordstrom...everything is all in the same area so you'll run into a bunch of great boutiques in between the 2 and around the mall (the names escape me..)

Are you stopping anywhere else on the West Coast?

OOH and Mid-July is RIGHT when Anniversary Sale is starting at Nordstrom, so you'll be in luck!! I also forgot to mention, for sightseeing go to Alki Beach in West Seattle--best views of the city and great rollerblading and restaurants :)

I was just looking at Nordstrom online, - don't they have Louboutin? '

If not, can you purchase Louboutin's anywhere else in that area??
