I recently bought this beautiful fur vest from Theory. I don't know much about fur, it's a light cream/grey color and the SAs kept saying it's silver fox.
It's beautiful, it drapes well and is funky and interesting and lovely. The only thing is that it sheds. I pretty much only wear black and when I take it off (after 5 minutes of trying it on, I've never worn it for real yet), I have long white hairs all over my top. Is this normal and to be expected, or is it a sign of bad quality? I paid about $800 which isn't a lot for fur, but is a lot for an item of clothing that will drive me crazy for making me look funny when I take it off when I arrive places. any thoughts? return or just deal with it? |

I don't have a fur vest but tried on one at the store for about 2 minutes and I don't recall any shedding.

i haven't heard of heavy shedding on real fur.. i don't personally own any, but maybe it'll shed at first and get better once all the 'looser' furs fall off? not sure.. if you really love it it may be worth it to keep it and just carry a lint roller in your car/handbag (i do.. :P) if you don't think its worth the effort, then take it back.

I own qute a lot of fur and shedding will occasionally happen but if it is silverfox then after a short while you will be ok.
Congratulations on the purchase - sounds fab. |
