Let's go shopping.
I allways have a tough time prioritizing what I am saving up for next. Me being under 15, just getting into fashion & wanting everything I see. Like, I got my Louis Vuitton, The Burberry Cap I have been eyeing up, Juicy Braclet, Juicy Shoes, etc. But then I promised myself when I got my LV, that would be it for a few months and that I would start saving for a Juicy Tracksuit and designer jeans. I can't even work at my age so my parents usually fork out all the money. Which they can afford to do that most of the time but I hate to do that because it feels more rewarding when I buy it myself. Plus I hate feeling like a brat. But now since I bought my LV I am looking to buy ANOTHER. But I just read about Designer Jeans & I want a pair of those to. So basically I am wodnering how do you prioritize what you want as far as fashion... and handbags. Like, when you promise yourself a juicy tracksuit, is it like.... thats it, I am getting it. Or do you change your mind alot like me? Or do you have more of a list where you say: I really like this so thats on top... then it goes this... and then this... and so on?

I've accepted that my "list" is never ending.

That's why for clothes, I mostly stick to the cheaper brands seasonally. I do buy mid-priced clothes if I can see myself wearing it 10+ times and it looks extra beautiful.

I spend way more on bags & shoes & some fashion staples (esp. coats.. I used to own about 40 of them!), and make sure they are classic styles so they won't go out of style- and I let myself splurge every season on new accessories (be it a handbag, or shoe, or whatever).

When I was your age, I was just barely getting to know fashion so it was easy to want all sorts of different things. I think prioritizing your fashion wants is a good idea. it helps when you know your "must haves" and what you can live without.

Bonjour!
I prioritize, also. For me, dresses are a priority. I own some very expensive dresses, and I will continue to buy expensive dresses.

However, I'm still trying to learn a couple lessons. Like: expensive shoes WILL get wrecked in a Chicago winter, so IntlSet, please stop buying them! I also feel that I own enough designer handbags and don't plan to add any more to my collection for the foreseeable future.

My never ending list is numbered from one to infinity and everything has a number. When that number is called upon, then that ticket is redeemed for it's item. Of course there are line jumpers. Sometimes I think I want something so I say I've got to get this first, but then change my mind because it doesn't seem right. I try to save up for the most expensive things first and by the time the money comes around I try to figure out if I would be more satisfied getting that one expensive item or several items that add up to that one big thing. This way I figure out if I really ever wanted that pricey item and if I don't, that's cool because I've got a bunch of new stuff in the end, or if I do get that pricey item then the next thing I've got to save up for is cheaper which means it's going to come to me quicker. Some things are just plain necessity so they have to come first, but that's my usual tactic for everything else that I just want and isn't necessary.

Demi, You have gave me a really good idea of what I shall do. :) I will make a list, starting with 1..... then as I buy them I will check it off. Whatever I find I will go in that order. But I am really going to try not to fiddle with the order because one may feel left out... :(........

For me, being only 15. I prioritize by what i need and then by costs. I own many pairs of designer jeans but those are the only jeans I have. I dont make much money so have to wait for birthdays and special occasions. My parents will spend money If I really want the item and I do well in school, but I never let them since I know that I would never want just one thing. I always change my mind about what I want. Usually sales throw me off the edge. I make a list of things Ive wanted for a while. Right now I want new so low pants, primp thermals, steve madden slouch boots, and tory burch flats. If a sale comes up on any of those items then Ill get it and cross it off.

When I was 15, I was interested in fashion, but my interest was stronger with sports, school and family time. It wasn't until I was 19 or 20 that I started to act on fashion. I've made style mistakes, but it was fun and forgivable at that age.
By my mid-twenties and up, it is really important to have your style. Mine was cheap clothes that was basic and slowly I purchased upscale basics. My wardrobe is very modest, but my accessory wardrobe is very ultra upscale that reflects the maturity and the woman I've grown into.

BTW, my first LV bag I got was at the age of 24 and I paid it in full, cash. It felt so good and I felt that I worked hard without cheating (using family & friends to get you those high paying jobs) and I felt I moved on to the next stage in my life.

Seperate the wants,from the need.

very Simple =)

Aw hon, anytime! I know it's really tough at that age and you also want to be independent. I remember getting my first job at 16 and it felt so good being able to buy things on my own for a change. On the other hand I wanted EVERYTHING I saw...which was impossible to get without saving. 7 years later I'm still using the same tactic and it's worked wonderfully! Let me know how it works out for you.

I focus less on brand names and more on fit when it comes to clothes. I have J Brand jeans that fit great, but I have jeans that I paid $20 for at Marshall's that fit just as well, if not better. I would try shopping at Marshall's and TJ Maxx. They have designer clothing like Juicy, Theory, 7 For All Mankind, etc. I've seen a Stuart Weitzman purse as well. You just have to check out the stock every week or two because it changes.

As far as purses, I never felt like paying 19 times mark-up was ever worth it.

When I was younger, I'd babysit and save up my own cash to buy things.

I always feel better when telling people "I bought this for myself" as opposed to "my husband bought it for me."

hard to say, depending on your growth, you might just outgrow your designer jeans in a couple of years. but personally I am not a tracksuit person, I would say to think of your needs as long term needs

You are very sensible for your age!!!
My priorities are usually shoes and bags. And jewelery. Because a bag will fit no matter what, and so are shoes (unless there is weight gain over 20 kgs, or a pregnancy). Jewelry can even be an investment.

Now taking under consideration your young age, and you are still growing, stick with the bags, if you are not abusing them they will last you for ever. I grew taller when I was 17, and as you can imagine I had to throw away all my old clothes as they didn't fit at all. Imagine I had spent a lot of money on exp jeans, and in like 6 months they didn't fit at all!!!

If I were you I'd stick with less expensive track suits, or mix and match of cheap clothes and a few designer clothes. I usually buy classic stuff of good quality on sale (it's easy for me to find sizes), and I don't spend much on clothing. Plus I only buy clothes 2 times a year and no more than 2-3 garments at a time.

As for my more expensive buys they usually have this pattern: bag, shoes, shoes, accessory, jewelry, bag, shoes, etc... Just to keep a nice balance.
