I have a lot of stuff from Banana Republic, J.Crew, and Theory (mom's stuff). I hit it lucky with her Theory suit. Express also makes some nice pants. H&M is also good but the sizing is hit or miss. And you can always try thrift or consignment stores. Your selection is probably going to be more current at a consignment store... no giant 80s shoulder pads!

Crew just for interviews but i really don't know where else to buy them. i want good-quality suits that would last a long time, but my budget per suit is definitely $350 or less per suit. help!!!
I personally love suits from United Color of Benneton, A/X & Banana Republic (mine usually is around $79 per piece on sale from $199 & up)... I tend to mix a lot of my suit pieces (get prints on my suits that can pull out a solid shirt/skirt), but I do tend to splurge more on shirts & skirts than suits.

I also don't buy anything that is not on sale since my philosophy is everything goes on sale at some point... so why waste money paying full price.

Also try TJ Maxx and Marshalls. They often have great deals on Tahari pant & skirt suits (usually under $100).

The Neimans outlets have great deals on theory, dkny, tahari, etc. Also, Marshalls and TJ Maxx will carry good pieces sometimes. There are a lot of good deals out there for work clothes.

I went to Saks outlet last weekend with my mom to just browse and i saw some theory pieces. she had been eyes these black theory pants from neimans and off saks had them ($29.97! - 50% off the clearance price). I had purchased a couple of jackets from NM presale and thought I got a good deal...but at off saks they had Theory jackets. I got 2 of them at $29.97 each! one was originally $415 and the other was $360.

I agree with the PPs on Theory, it's the best. I just realized I'm wearing it head to toe today!

Most workplaces are pretty casual these days, I would only buy one suit. :)
