Default Need opinions on my coat! (kinda urgent :P)

I bought this swing coat yesterday at a charity shop for £10 and it's by Jaeger - the leather is to die for since I can't stop touching it and the lining is made of silk! But because it's a style I've never really worn before I need some opinions

Here it is! :

(please excuse my messy room! )

WOW! What a bargain!

At the moment, it's a bit shapeless (and I really don't mean to be rude - I can't think of a better word!). Silhouettes at the moment are sort of flowy, with a bit of shape, so could you belt it around the middles, perhaps? This would give it some shape - think "trench-coat-like."

You could also belt it, leaving a gap at the front if you ever wear a brightly coloured dress or something - that can look really nice.

If you like this idea, try a belt in a contrasting colour or texture... maybe red cotton weave? Or a different coloured leather? Try experimenting with some different widths as well!

Hi Juicebox.... The pics are kind of hard for me to see... It might just be my computer though... What color is it? I'm not a huge fan of leather coats although I've been wanting a leather motorcycle jacket lately... I love swing coats though (cashmere or wool preferably) but I would probably fall for this one more if it were paired with a cute shift dress... tights... and booties... HTH

I would agree with this...if you are uncertain about its shape then you could have it cut to fit they way you want.

Since it's a swing coat, I think the "fullness" is intended...but if you were to wear it open (unzipped/unbuttoned) with something belted or fitted underneath it could look cute!

Fold the collars all the way through and belt it up at the smallest part of your waist. Pull back the fabric and allow the clothes underneath to peek through.

Another way you can wear it is wearing it with a A line dress and use it more as a cape than a jacket - don't put your hands into the sleeves.

I think it is flaterring to you. What a great buy!!! I really like neck scarves with coats to give them "direction"

Post some action pics if you find a solution that you really like. Can't waitt o see how you "work it out," as American Idol judge Randy Jackson would say
