Default My new maxi dress.. IRL pic... what do you think?

Hi everyone! I just purchased this maxi dress and would appreciate everyone's comments. Should I keep or return? Please consider the following...

I dont like the fact that the pockets on the dress gives it such a casual look whereas the halter neck makes it look more formal. I can't remove the pockets so I'm really conflicted on the design of the dress.

Is it still worth keeping?

I'm editing my post to clairify that I'd like to wear the dress casually. Do you think the style enables me to do so?

You look great in it! Since it's a long dress with halter neck, i'm not sure about the pockets. I would return it.

It looks good on you, but the pockets are weird. If it is for casual things, keep it. But if your looking for something formal, I'd get a different dress. Hope that helps!

Definitely looks great!

Since you're not liking the conflict of the halter style mixed with the pockets i suggest taking the halter straps and twisting them so they look more like a rope and then tying it. Should make the dress look a bit more casual and should fit better with the pockets and whatnot. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the rsponse so far ladies.

I appreciate the suggestions Sammydoll. I'm going to try it! I also thought of criss crossing the back instead of tying it at my neck.

I definitely felt like I was wearing a formal dress when I first wore a maxi dress, but if you wear it to casual events with flat shoes/sandals it looks fine. I spent half an hour in front of my mirror trying to figure out whether I looked cool or ridiculous! You look great in your new dress though--it's definitely a keeper!

i love it! and i like the idea of having pockets. i think if you wore your hair down and loose and shaggy and wear flats you will feel more casual.

I almost bought this dress from forever 21 but i was torn about the pockets. I already have big hips so the pockets made me look even wider. But on you I have to say it looks great and the pockets might come in handy with a cell phone or something. Id say keep it

I like it! it can easily be dressed up or down. I think this could look GREAT for casual wear...add big huge shades and a pair of metallic flats and you should be good to go!!

life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. so love the people who treat you right, forget the ones who don't and believe everything happens for a reason. if you get a chance, take it. if it changes your life, let it. nobody said that it would be easy, they just promised that it would be worth it.

It looks good on you. I'm not totally loving the pockets but I can overlook that. I think it is a keeper!
