Default My dress sold out...GAAAAAHHH!!!
Ok, so I'm breaking from my usual habit and looking for a dress for my 28th birthday party - not until next year, but planning already. Came across a DIVINE dress on theOUTNET.com and was stumbling a bit over the price - but still, amazing dress, beautifully constructed and styled, so great for my figure and personal taste, my favourite colour navy...

Woke up this morning and thought, come on! You're only turning 28 once and the party that's being planned (by my mother and sister) is sounding pretty amazing! You're going to need a fantastic dress and you can either buy it now and not have to think about it again for the rest of the year, or you can pass this one up and be tortured for months and months while you fail to find anything worth buying.

Get out of bed. In jammies. Sit at computer. Don't even have tea yet, so bleerily looking at screen as computer boots up. Open Safari, click on theOUTNET bookmark. Open page. Dress is SOLD OUT.

There follows 10-15 seconds of staring at the screen in sheer disbelief. Then twitching starts, followed up head shaking, banging hands on desk, turning to look in mirror at horrified face...

So, I'm not adjusting well to the fact that I've been scooped out of the perfect dress for my 28th. Does anyone have any special coping techniques for when you miss out on that perfect outfit???

Unfortunately, I wish I had some advice for you. Nothing irritates me any more than wanting something, and It's sold out. That's when I go on a mission! Distance is no object when I want something!!!

I usually sit around and stew for a little bit... days if it was something I really wanted and missed out on.

What was the dress you were looking for?? Maybe we can find it somewhere else for you!!

Also, bookmark the exact page the dress was on (if you still can) -- sometimes things come back into stock at The Outnet.

sorry! Email them. They will generally restock at some point, and may email you when it comes back into stock. They may also be able to provide you with a direct link to where you may find the dress. So, shoot them an email! Good Luck!

Aww, so sorry!! When this happens to me, I google madly, check the page often (just in case), and buy consolation items Don't do the last one, it's usually a bad idea.

Aaawww! Thanks ladies, you're all so lovely! I knew you would understand.

It was a really beautiful dress by Alberta Ferretti and I have emailed theOUTNET and asked if they can notify me if someone returns it. I've also bookmarked the page so I can keep checking just in case.

Now to not obsess too much...

^ i'm super curious as to which dress it is, as well. please post link so we can all ooh and ahh.

i'm so sorry this happened to you, OP. i hate it when this happens. i usually track the item down somewhere else, or get someone to track it for me. once i have my mind set on something, nothing else will do and i must have it. since your 28th birthday is not until next year you may be able to find it, or something just like it!

I can't find it on theOUTNET website anymore. I think there's a link to it via the UK Shop Standard website:

http://www.theoutnet.com/product/678...BKOfvKlnr_biWA

Isn't it loverly!!!??

Weird, it works when I'm clicking on it, opens a new window and everything...

It's the Alberta Ferretti Teardrop-embellished cotton dress. The link below is direct to the UK Shop standard website, my dress (well, the dress I wish was mine) is the third row down, first on the left. If you click on that, it should take you to theOUTNET page for the dress.

http://shop.standard.co.uk/category_...tgroup=DRESSES

Hope that works!

It's a gorgeous dress OP (Alberta Ferretti )
I hope it comes back for you, or something you love even more comes along.

Like everyone else here I know exactly how you feel, but I point blank refuse to get downhearted for too long because there are so many gorgeous things out there.
I've even taught myself to get excited when I miss out on something I wanted, because it means that something better is on its way
