Default most amazing high-waisted pencil skirts

Okay, so i'm an asian girl with a big huge bubble butt (yes it's weird and yes i hate it), but i'm in love with high-waisted pencil skirts. most pencil skirts make my butt look HUGE and totally unflattering, but believe it or not, i have found the best high-waisted pencil skirts ever, and they are made by....BANANA REPUBLIC!

yes yes i know banana republic isn't known to be super trendy or anything, but i was so impressed by their recent collection of high-waisted pencil skirts that i just had to start this thread. i've tried pencil skirts by Theory, J.Crew, etc. and none of them work on me except for the ones by BR. the pencil skirts totally flatter my butt from the back and the side, and the prices are sooo reasonable. here are the ones that i bought for work so far just in the last 2 weeks:

http://www.bananarepublic.com/browse...052&pid=583289

http://www.bananarepublic.com/browse...619&pid=583285 (personally i think the model doesn't wear it that well--pencil skirts should be slightly more fitted than that)

okay sorry i just had to share!!

Oh...I'm excited to try these next time I go to the mall.

jazn85, what do you wear with these pencil skirts? What kind of tops tucked in? And where do you wear them too?

When I wear pencil skirts, I feel conservatively dressy...as if I just came from an office. They're just so chic, but I don't know where to wear them to. Not shopping and certainly not to a night club! Right?

Treschic35, i understand what you mean. for work, i wear them with all shirts tucked in (to show off the high waist and curves!). these are usually button-downs, blouses, or a simple tank-top/camisole with a cardigan.

i definitely wear them out at night clubbing/dinner, but only the ones that are black or trendy-dressy. for instance, i wouldn't wear my grey pinstriped pencil skirt out at night; it just looks too officey. i would, however, wear my black high-waisted pencil skirt out at night with a pretty silky top tucked in, and sexy heels!

Banana Republic has this great silky blouse with bubble-ish sleeves that have little buttons on the sides and this great secretary-style bow in the front and it looks AMAZING with the high-waisted pencil skirts. I work there and this girl tried it on together today and it was really cool and great for work. A more revealing sleeveless blouse with an interesting neckline and some great jewelry could work at night.

I'm trying to find that blouse...they have so many of them. Can you please post a pic?

Yeah, sorry about that, I totally forgot to post the link!
That's the one but do NOT wear it like the first model is. That just looks bizarre and costume-y...
If you wear it like the model in the pants suit with the bow tied lower it looks better imo. Also, the cream color looks fab with black high-waisted skirts. I'm not a huge fan of the teal. Hope that helps!

I didn't see those at the store last week. I am definitely going back to find them. There's something classy and romantic about high waisted skirts...

Something more fitting would probably be more flattering for someone with a JLo body. Other than that its cute.
