I have never been able to find a leather jacket that I've liked so I've always stayed away. Recently though I've really been wanting to buy one. I LOVE the Mke & Chris ones, but get uneasy at the thought of shelling out $700-900 for one...I'd rather buy a purse! I missed the recent sale too (which I'm kicking myself over because $300-400 was waay more reasonable for one. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Here's what I like:

I'm 23, so I want something young, fun and a little edgy, something fitted in the waist but not at all blazer-like, nothing trench-coat length or super cropped-somewhere around the hips is great, something with super super soft leather that's washed/distressed, maybe even wrinkly, and I like the Mike and Chris hood but don't NEED it- I just like the casual look it brings.

i recommend SWORD and Mike & Chris.

i just got the SWORD Lucca jacket and it is the softest leather ever!! distressed and the fit is perfect.

Go for a motorcycle-style with a zipper instead of buttons; It'll flatter almost every bodytype and looks young & fresh

I must say that I do love Mackage's leather. I have the Alix. I would also reccomend sword...Everyone is having sales so look around for those brands

Why not wait for the sales as there's bound to be a ton on offer at great markdowns. Don't buy something as a make do measure as it's a false economy when you really don't love it

Thanks guys- I absolutely love the mackage jackets!!! I'm goin to try to get to a store to try one on today to see what size I am. I had never heard of them or SWORD before.

On another note....In a bone-headed move, I bought a Mike and Chris jacket on eBay due to an unbelievable price...now I'm kind of worried that it could be a fake. Has anyone heard of fakes? Is there a better place to post the link? All the pics are stock pics, but I think one of the pics is the same pic I saw for some bulk seller selling them for under $100 or something . I'm very hesitant to pay due to this. Any thoughts about the seller or jacket?
