Default LONG dress on a SHORT girl?

yesterday i saw a friend of mine who is shorter than i am (she is probably 5'2 and i am 5'3 or 5'4)....and she was wearing a really long dress. It looked awesome on her, so now i am wondering, could i pull off this long dress too? i feel like you have to be really tall to wear one, but now i'm not so sure.

do any short girls here wear floor length sundresses? do you have pics?

tia!

I think long looks great on short people, and short looks best on tall people.

I'm tall and I don't know if I could pull off the long.

I think to pull this off you have to be really skinny. Nicole Ritchie used to wear long dresses and flip flops and she's really short. I think if you're even slightly chubby the long dress can make you look fat.

The only way to know is to try one some long dresses. I'm short (5'1") and I thought that long dresses wouldn't look good on me, until I tried. Give it a shot & see what it looks like....

I agree. I saw a boutique owner wearing one yesterday. She looked great in it, but she was skinny.

I'm short and I never wear long dresses. ITA that you have to be really skinny to pull it off.

Yeh, no matter how tall or short you are, you have to be relatively slim for it to look good. A friend and I decided we'd try them for fun, because we both love the look of maxi's. After trying, I think maxi's just don't suit me at all, but definitely give it a try because you never know.

It depends on if you can pull it off. Try to and see how you feel.

Definitely you can pull it off. Why not put on a great pair of heels to match?

i'm 5'2" and love the gypsy 05 dresses! but i have to get the solid ones b/c i need to hem it, defeating the purpose of the ombre fade.
